Loteria is the real deal and does not get the attention and praise it deserves. I recently ordered the shrimp tacos, pozole verde, lengua tacos, beef tostada - all for myself! It was all phenomenal. Loteria is truly one of LA’s gems.

I got tamales for the Candelaria’s day celebration. ( A must after you get the baby Jesus on the Rosca de Reyes). They were delicious. Good proportions on meat and masa. I will definitely will be ordering from this place. I’m Hispanic and I’m always looking for authentic flavors.

Loteria is an old favorite from the days when they had a bigger presence in the L.A. restaurant scene. We feel very lucky to live so close to their takeout window. And we come about once a week. We have several dishes we like, but the reliable standout is the pozole rojo. And the shrimp tacos are great too.

We ordered birria ramen and birria pizza. Both are delicious. This place is pizza and cars are parked out front with ordering hazards, so be sure to plan on waiting if you order inside, or plan ahead and take it to go! I wish the ramen was larger for $10. Elote is the best I've had in Richmond, don't miss it. Cucumber lime juice is fresh and perfectly sweet. Fiancé loves a large birria pizza and we have leftovers, suggest human sizes! Service
