It was a rainy night so Lulu's patio was closed. We sat huddled with other diners in the roofed part of the restaurant, with the lanterns glowing and the patio heaters keeping out the chill. This lent an air of intimacy to our dining, as did the fact that we often ran into the same lovely diners and waitstaff every visit. It was my second time there and I know I'll be back again, very soon I hope. The food is outstanding, you can't go wrong with anything you order. What a gem in the middle of LA.
The food is much better away from occasions. Very difficult to prepare great food for a sitting of large customers. Your folks tried very hard to make it work and if this were a business persons dinner then great. But we do enjoy dinner or lunch at Lulu.
