This is a food stand located outside of LAX-C, which offers coconut cakes along with some other Thai items like meat skewers. It is only open on the weekends and is in walking distance to LA Chinatown. Coconut cakes are a Thai dessert that are harder to find in the US. They sort of look like bubble waffles cut up into pieces with a notable creamy coconut flavor. It makes for a great snack and reheats decently well if you are not eating them right away.
Delicious sausage and coconut cakes. Closest thing we've had to street food in Thailand. The sausage is both charred/crispy and juicy. It's just missing the little bag of chili, garlic and cabbage. The coconut cakes are delicious, coconuty and oniony without being too sweet or savory. The sticky rice was good but a little loose. Great, cheap and quick meal eaten outside if you're in the area. Will have to come back for sausage and coconut cakes sometime.
We came on a Sunday, it is somewhat busy. The location has a few small Thai stands. We ordered the mango sticky rice coconut cakes and green onion coconut cakes. They are $10 ( each has around 8 pieces ).The coconut cakes are sweet , creamy and flavorful, they made it right in front of you so they come out warm.
