Manuela Reviews
After our Altadena house burned down, we relocated to Barker Block and absolutely love being so close to Manuela. We used to have a fire table like yours, so dining here always carries a sense of home. Last night we brought friends, and they said, ‘This makes it hard to go out to eat in Monrovia—our restaurants cut corners with cheap ingredients and fast turnover.’ What your chefs create is the opposite: dishes with not just incredible flavor but extraordinary texture and...read full review
Great food, service and beautiful restaurant
The service was great. The cocktail I had was really good. The food is very fresh. The shareables were perfect and very creative. We loved the biscuits especially. I had the best pork chops ever. The side dishes are perfect to share also. A hidden gem in the arts district of downtown. I highly recommend it.

Manuela is a refined restaurant in downtown LA, located near a museum and garden. It serves gourmet comfort food with a twist, including fresh oysters, hen of the wood mushrooms with cornbread, and a perfect steak. The brunch menu offers a unique experience, paired with creative cocktails. The restaurant is housed in a remodeled old factory and has a cultural, trendy vibe, making it a great spot for special occasions. Reservations are recommended, especially on weekends. While some dishes, like the decadent Bambi Burger made with real venison, are featured, reviews mention that the food can be hit or miss. The bar staff is attentive and friendly, and the atmosphere is enhanced by the artsy decor. Although the Hanger Steak and Popover Benedict have received praise, some diners found other items, like the half chicken and potatoes, to be overly salty. Overall, the restaurant has the potential to impress, especially with its appetizers, such as biscuits and albacore dip.
