The food was excellent but the service was not great. The waiter skipped one of us on drinks, never brought my drink until we were done with our meal after three reminders, a said he would remove it from the bill but still included it. I think he was probably distracted due to the restaurant being full. However, I would expect better from a high end restaurant.

Me and my boyfriend were celebrating our 4-year anniversary in LA and were excited to try Mastro's since everyone at our hotel said the food was amazing. And the food really was amazing , but the service was more than displeasing. When we sat down, our waiter had to look at the menu in front of us to remind himself what we were celebrating which was a bit of a shock to me. Throughout the meal, there were almost no check-ins, no recommendations, and no explanation of the menu...

Booked a table for the wife's bday, and Mastro's knocked it out of the park. From the great food, service,, and extra special things they did for her bday.. The custom menus with her name, preparation of certain items table side. They went above and beyond, and definitely took the time and effort for a special occasion.
