I would love to give this place a perfect score. It has excellent food that tastes of authenticity. They need to do something about lighting and flooring. That's all. It would make a huge difference to the ambience, and probably isn't such a huge investment. It's enough to keep you from going there for a special event, but don't let it be enough to keep you from going for a fantastic meal, and a fantastic time.

The best ingredients, the best technology, and the best hospitality, all of which are the best. It's not a formal atmosphere, there are always smiling faces, and best of all, you can enjoy each piece of sushi carefully! This is a store I would definitely like to visit again.

There is expensive and then there is too expensive. Everything is Delicious. But simply overpriced. As in double the price of what other nice sushi / steak places charge.

Maybe the best sushi dinner of my life!!! We got the 26-course omakase and sat at the counter and were treated SO well by everyone, from the chef to the servers. We got to try incredible sushi that we'd never heard of before, all of it perfectly executed. A wonderful atmosphere. Feels like such a hidden gem, I can't wait to go back.

I loved the omakase here! Sushi was above average and the prices were reasonable for what we got.

Almost want to gatekeep this place but will share the wealth. Each time we go, they just impress us more and more. Super intimate setting, unassuming in a tiny plaza. We always sit at the bar right in front of chef to watch him work his magic. He always starts us with the squid which is the best we've ever tasted. The toro is melt in your mouth. The crab is the softest and most delicious we've had in the city. The amaebi is super luxe. Having one piece of Hokkaido uni is a treat already so to have two dif versions was the best surprise. Will be regulars here!

Came here for our anniversary and everything was good and super fresh. I was impressed with their omakase for the price. Staff was friendly and attentive. It's located in a strip mall and inside hides this cute sushi spot. Would come back here again.

Overpriced Sushi DisappointmentA Hefty Price for Mediocrity at MatsumotoThe promise of upscale sushi dining unfortunately falls flat. Despite the high prices, the experience left me wondering if the cost was for as it definitely was not for the food. The service, while well-intentioned, feels overly rehearsed and disingenuous. It's clear they're aiming for a high-end feel, but it only ends up creating an uncomfortable and artificial atmosphere. The prices are steep, creating an illusion of exclusivity and value. Yet, when the bill arrives, you find yourself questioning the correlation between cost and quality. In conclusion, Matsumoto uses its high price tag as a mask for the ordinary food and awkward service. It leaves you disappointed. And to add to that, if you don't sit at the counter, which is basically forced omakase, you don't get the main chef you end up with his assistant.

Quick SummaryGood food and ambiance for their omakase dinner. Everything was fresh and delicious, and the service was fantastic. I wouldn't come out of my way to get here, but it's a fantastic local neighborhood sushi spotFood- 4.5 starsWe ordered the 10 piece omakase along with the ikura and scallop. Unfortunately, they didn't have any Hokkaido scallop, but everything else was pretty good. Our favorites were the seared Japanese barracuda, seared Kodai, King Mackerel, golden eye snapper, and black sea perch. Service- 5 starsEveryone is very attentative and accommodating. Appreciated that they were able to move our reservation earlierParkingIt's in a small strip model with a small parking lot. We were able to snag a spot because a rush of patrons had just finished their meal, but questionable parking situation in the surrounding area given that street permits are requiredBottom LinePretty solid omakase experience at a higher end price. Highly recommend if you're around the area
