When I miss Asian food such as Taiwan or Japan, I come here to have a pork chop curry rice.

Beautiful Japanese comfort food in a clean and modern setting. Excellent drink menu and comforting curries. Note that 80% of the specials and menu have pork, so if you have any dietary restrictions be noted. Very tasty, economical and respectful service.Dietary restrictions: Make sure to ask if there is pork or shrimp in the dish.Parking: Very hard to find parking typical of Sawtelle Japantown.Kid-friendliness: Plenty of Japanese choices for little kids as well as small shareable portions.

Great food and service for the price. Plenty of seating and validated parking in the lot. The restaurant is on the second floor on the right side. Good for a chill lunch or dinner to talk with friends! Only issue I had was their booth seating which has no support and was difficult to sit on.

This is such a hidden gem in Sawtelle! The items are well fried and go well with the tokotsu sauce and curry sauce. The tartar salad and mash potato are refreshing, complimenting the oily food really well. It's my first time having to grind sesame seeds for my tonkatsu sauce in America, and I wish more restaurants do that to provide authentic experiences to diners. The service is ok. The ambiance is nice and cozy. One thing I have to point out is that the ingredients to the fried stuff are not exactly the right parts or fresh. The tonkatsu is more of a gray and dark pork meat inside instead of white meat. Maybe they didn't drain the blood completely. One or two oysters also tastes a little stale. However, overall it's a great place and I'll come back for different food

The cozy ambiance, with Japanese music playing in the background, sets the perfect tone for your dining experience. Now, let's talk about the star of the show - the tonkatsu. From its golden, crispy exterior to its tender, juicy interior, every bite of MIDOH's tonkatsu is pure bliss. The pork cutlet is expertly breaded and fried to perfection, resulting in a delightful crunch with each bite. And the best part? It's not greasy at all, which speaks volumes about the chef's skill and attention to detail. But it's not just about the tonkatsu itself; it's the accompanying sides and sauces that elevate the dish to another level. The cabbage is fresh and crisp, providing a refreshing contrast to the richness of the tonkatsu. And let's not forget about the tangy tonkatsu sauce and the fragrant Japanese rice - they complement the tonkatsu flawlessly, creating a harmonious medley of flavors that dance on your palate. Comes with a bowl of miso soup too!

No idea why this place isn't more popular, it's amazing. Their curry is great, some of the best chicken I've tasted. They give you side dishes like corn soup or salad that complement the curry very well and adds more depth to the meal compared to other curry places.

Oh my! So good. You must try the Chicken Katsu with Spicy Curry Sauce and White Rice. 5/5. Absolutely amazing! Boyfriend had this for lunch, and I was jealous of his dish. However, I had the Udon with Chicken and a large Tempura Shrimp. It was wonderful. The broth was hot and very flavorful, and the noodles were soft and slurpy. Also 5/5. Our lunches came with a nice salad with a citrusy dressing, and boyfriend had a terrific creamy corn soup. This place is an overlooked gem on Sawtelle. It was not crowded at all, at 11:45 am on a Saturday. Super clean place with fast, friendly service. I'm coming back for the Katsu!

yummy japanese comfort food. They have the best katsu cutlet curry. One of the crispiest tempura, fish & chips & katsu i’ve ever had. Food is tasty and priced great! Their menu is decently sized. Low wait times & staff is super attentive!located on the second floor of sawtelle place plaza!Parking is free if you show proof of purchase of $10+! (only places directly in the sawtelle place plaza)

Midoh is Japanese comfort food! We decided to just walk around the complex and I was fascinated by the fake food. The portions here are generous and nothing has left us unsatisfied yet. Our first time trying Midoh we got the mixed katsu set and the omurice. I personally like the sweet savory flavors of the Omurice even the rice itself was mixed with curry seasoning. I got it with the demi-glacé sauce which I was surprisingly obsessed with! Can't wait to go back and try the Hamburg with the demi-glacé sauce. Of all the katsu types, we enjoyed the pork katsu best. I was also pleasantly surprised by the corn potage soup!! My lactose intolerance does not agree with it but I wish I could order a large serving of the corn potage every time haha The inside of the shop is surprisingly large and was mostly empty for a weekday lunch or early weekend dinner. It's filling, cozy, and scrumptious if that's what you're looking for!

Food: I ordered Curry rice with Hamburg Steak- It comes with salad and corn soup. I also ordered takoyaki. I really enjoyed the side dishes and takoyaki very much. The curry had good spice taste to it the meat however, was good but not Amazing. I would come back to try the other dishes as they all look delicious! Service : Excellent, friendly and quick. Ambiance : Dim lighting, casual and relaxing.

We had originally planned to go to revolving sushi in the same plaza, but when we saw the wait was 1.5 hours (on a Wednesday night, no less) we decided to walk around and see what else there was nearby. We had never heard of Midoh before, and were surprised to see it on the second floor of the plaza. The plastic food display out front looked great, and we decided to give it a try. I totally agree with the other reviews that this place REALLY deserves more customers. Our food was fantastic. Between the three of us we ordered curry with veggie croquettes, curry with chicken katsu, chicken katsu, and some takoyaki to share. We all agreed that it was the perfect comfort food for a chilly evening; the flavor was right on point and was extremely nostalgic. I think this place being on the second floor really hurts. We were one of two parties in the dining room, and the only thing that could have made the experience better would have been to see the space filled with other happy customers. I hope this encourages a few people to try it out! We'll definitely be going back.

Food was good. The salad was as very fresh, and the udon bowl was big. The broth flavorful burning so hot. Had to "decant" the udon on another plate to let it cool. Atmosphere barn-like, though we were there for a late lunch on a weekday. Space looks like it was constructed--as did the mall it sits in--in the 80s when that industrial look was popular, but now feels dated. Mom and Pop decor. Would go back if I were in the hood, though Sawtelle has become a nightmare for parking. Lucked out at this hour with a spot on the curb. Looks like they have underground parking, but don't know if they validate...

My favorite sit down restaurant on Sawtelle. What makes it great? Their curry, the best tonkatsu and other katsus, terrific udon noodles, especially the ones served with clams. Choose the corn soup over the miso, not that the miso is bad, Service is also excellent. I don't know why this place doesn't get more crowded. Located on the second floor in the Mitsuwa Market mini-mall. Free parking for one hour with purchase.
