Gluten free fried chicken 🤤 Wow this place blew me away! I’ve been wanting to try it ever since I went to gluten free, and I’m sad I waited so long. My husband was hesitant because he didn’t love the karaage he tried in Japan, and is an American fried chicken purist, but we went on a whim and now we’ve a new spot to Sawtelle restaurant rotation. Delicious rice flour chicken karaage in a quiet spot above the fray with lovely jazz music atmosphere. This is a family run, one of its kind restaurant with a great historic Japanese family story in front on the window. The full meal is $11.95-14 depending on the pieces of chicken you choose (thighs, breast, wings, gizzards, cartilage soft tendon meat etc) and an amazing deal for lunch! Highly recommend
Solid but not my fave. I’d prefer thinner pieces for a larger breading to meat ratio.
