The food is great but portions on some dishes are extremely small, even for my standards, who is NOT someone who favors big portions at restaurants. I think they can do a lot to improve the ambience - maybe some fresh flowers and candles in the evening? Also, some of the built in seats against the wall are very uncomfortable. My back was killing me after a while. The service was great and the owner is present and very attentive to guests, which is a huge plus. There is free parking in the back, which is another huge plus.

Amarone is a real gem of a restaurant. Excellent authentic Italian food, friendly service, and a relaxed comfortable atmosphere that lends itself to everything from a special celebratory dinner to a dinner outta da house. Sandro, the owner, makes you feel like family and no special request is beyond him. By your second and third visits he remembers your likes and makes recommendations accordingly. Amarone is a local treasure!

Seated promptly. Friendly, attentive, professional service. All our dishes (five diners) were very good. Particularly outstanding were Tre Colori Salad Pappardelle Funghi Ravioli Funghi Rigatoni Alla Norma

Disappointed

Awesome as it always is! Sandi and his crew are the best. Only thing that would make it better is if we lived in LA and could eat there every week! Have NEVER had a bad meal there. Congrats guys, keep up the awesome work!

It was the worst Valentine's dinner ever. I went to dinner with my girlfriend for a Valentine's event, but I felt like this restaurant was not ready for such an event. The Valentine's course was three courses, including an appetizer, and it took about 2-30 minutes for the appetizer to come out. After the appetizer, we had to wait about 30 minutes for the first dish and then another 30 minutes for the second dish. It took us almost two hours to finish our dinner. The food was not worth the wait. The pasta was okay, but the filet mignon was dry and tough. The price was reasonable, but I personally think they have to improve the quality of the food and service even if they raise the price. I don't want to ruin my occasional dinner.

The food was absolutely incredible, but when they got busy, their service got slower and slower and... slower. There were only 2 waiters for some 15 tables in their second room. ? The poor guys were overworked. If they got another waiter (or two), this place would be top of my list for a go-to restaurant. I'm telling you their food was out of this world. Had the butternut squash soup as an appetizer, the rigatoni with vodka sauce and a filet mignon. Everything was cooked to perfection. I'll still go back just for the food alone. My boyfriend and I will bring a game or something to pass the time?

I really miss the Amarone location on Sunset, which had to close because the building is slated to be demolished. I finally made it to the new location on Beverly. While the surroundings aren't as polished as the Sunset digs the food is just as good. I have a soft spot for the charming owner Sandro who has the lovely but all but lost habit of greeting every guests' table to check on the meal. My pear salad was as good as ever and the mushroom ravioli is as good as you'll find anywhere in Los Angeles. I had two delicious glasses of Barolo with my meal.

Marco takes great care of us every time we go there and makes very good food recommendations. Sandro the owner runs a nice restaurant with great food. Both of them come over and chat with us and we feel like we are family already!

Nightmare

When we arrived the owner tried to push us to order alcohol and we don't drink. He got mad and was extremely rude to us. Then he strong armed us into ordering mock tails and an appetizer that we didn't really want and he didn't give a chance to look at the menu. Then he said how great we looked and harassed us by asking where we were going after. While we were eating, he kept staring at us and bothering us. The only saving grace of the night was that the meal was ok. Could have been better. We couldn't get out of there fast enough. Would never recommend this place to anyone.

Absolutely loved the experience! The staff was very welcoming and pleasant. The food was 5 star, everything even the bread was exceptional in flavor. The presentation of the food was esthetically pleasing. You can taste the love and authenticity in each of the dishes we tried. Well worth giving them a try.

This place is an absolute gem! Always the best wines, terrific homemade pasta, and for a reasonable price in a very cute setting with the friendliest of staff. And I don't usually rave about salads but their salads (particularly the pear salad) are a MUST before any entree! LOVE Amarone!!!!!

I choose Amarone Kitchen and Bar to celebrate my daughter-in-law's 35th birthday and it was a wise choice! The service was exceptional. Our server recommended an Italian red wine that was delicious and well priced. The food was served hot and everyone got their meal at the same time, and the food was delicious. The water glasses were continually refilled, and used dishes were taken away in a timely manner without us even realizing! The owner came by out table to ask how everything was and he also served our daughter-in-law her dessert with a candle and exclaimed how beautiful she was! We will return for our next celebration in January! I highly recommend Amarone Kitchen and Bar for a wonderful dining experience!

Amorone restaurant is nothing short of LEGIT when it comes to authentic Italian cuisine. I was a loyal patron of Amarone during its previous location on Sunset so I was beyond thrilled when I found them at this new location. The Bucatini All' Amatriciana was perfectly al dente, and while I wished for a bit more of the delicious guanciale, the dish was still bursting with flavor. THe fig salad was also superb. And the cocktails... they are spectacular!! The limoncello cocktail has the perfect balance of sweetness and tartness with a refreshing burst of citrus. I need a gallon of this cocktail so I can sip on this all day. I tried some of their other cocktails and they were on point, top notch, and with a punch! Also, the owner's attention to detail and going above and beyond is truly commendable. I will 100% frequent this new location.

We've been wanting to check out Amarone since they opened and finally got a chance to walk over for dinner. Marco, our host, server, and bar menu designer, was very hospitable and all of the food we ordered was fantastic! We ordered the fig and radicchio salad and the grilled calamari appetizers to start, then the tagliatelle bolognese, calf liver, and grilled jumbo shrimp are our mains. For dessert, we did something highly unlikely of us and each ordered our own dessert - pistachio tartufo, tiramisu, and vanilla bean panna cotta and all were excellent. Highly recommend. So happy that Amarone is in our neighborhood as our go-to Italian.

Lovely Italian restaurant. This used to be right off the Sunset Strip and now moved right down the street from the Grove/ Farmers Market. Atmosphere is a cozy neighborhood restaurant like you see in big European cities. Food is all house made, fresh and taste delicious. Good portion size and great service. They have a small parking lot in the back and there is plenty of neighborhood street parking if you don't mind walking a block or 2. Which is well worth it. Great dining experience. Perfect for a date, business, or an upscale meal with friends.
