Delicious donuts and very very kind owners. I read on Reddit they are temporarily closed due to the husband needing heart surgery. They have no employees so please be patient and give them your business when they reopen.

The owner (Henry) is currently out for an emergency heart surgery.if you would like to support his recovery and medical costs, please help on their go/fund/me page, gofundme.com/f/moms-donu…

I stop here sometimes in the morning before work to get donuts for everyone. They're so good. It's just a woman and her husband and both of them are super nice and super helpful. I went in today with a friend of mine to get lunch and it was really good, really filling and affordable. The woman working seems to really care about the customers and will talk to them and remember little bits about them. If you're ever in Silverlake you have to stop here. Q

the glazed and cinnamon sugar were classic yeast donuts yet had a super unique texture that was so satisfying. just fried enough to have a crisp shell but still light and chewy and melt in your mouth. easy in and out. we couldn’t even get out of the lot before eating them! such lovely staff, definitely recommend

Ok so I have a lot to say about this place.I used to be a health conscious typical white chick and this place RIPPED ME A NEW A$$HOLE.i was just minding my own business jogging along silver lake and then i stopped in because I recognized it as a film site and decided to indulge in an apple fritter. I was on a vacation to los angeles.I can honestly say that this tasted better than any recollection of any food from my childhood and gave me hope for humanity. It was so good, in fact, that I returned to my home town and pursued many donut shops trying to replicate it without success. Then I literally moved to los angeles.mom's donuts and chinese food to go has the best apple fritter on earth. they crisp the edges so well and the apples are so warmly gooey and baked inside and they just never seem to be old. There's great parking and they are super affordable.so anyways, i moved to la and i tried to find more delicious apple fritters. i sought winchells (omg so gross) yumyum donuts, (super gross) k's donuts in studio city, dk's, sk's (amazing cronuts and others but not the originals) and i even contacted my new friends who are donut offionados (that happens in los angeles) to hear their remarks with randy's donuts, magee's donuts, cofax donuts, daily donuts... nothing would emulate.so after a year of searching, i once again jogged around silver lake and decided to stop in, where i met Heidi (featured in photo.) I talked to her about my experience and i casually purchased this "old fashioned donut crumb" which was adorned with a donut crumb that was made in-house.THIS ALSO RIPPED ME A NEW A$$HOLE.as you can tell i am not a large person but i am cursed with a terrible terrible sweet tooth. and usually, these freaking things i can pick up and put down because they aren't super good. but this donut crumb old fashioned dude, these apple fritters... i swear there's something wrong with them. they are unearthly. i don't know what's going on in back of house but this is truly a Love cooked within that is more powerful than anything my actual mother cooked for me, and don't tell her i said that on this yelp review that she will never see.it's like a magnet to heaven or something. 10/10 old fashioneds. the crunchy edge is fried to perfection and the baked inside is not too oily, it's just right, its fluff cakey, and what the heck is in this donut crumb topping? like SERIOUSLY? nobody has it! It cannot be recreated! It is a magic recipe granted only by heidi and her husband who run this shop.i went back today and got a dozen because i have had noses turnt up at the monstrocities of old-fashioned i have brought to my conneiusseur friends who say, "alexis, this is low quality!" i just have to share with them this pure form of true donut, 11/10. i brought the apple fritter to my friend who has traversed the city with me, even pursuing sidecar on fritter friday with disappointment, and he said "i ate that whole thing dude." and i say to you- you will eat the whole thing. so don't FREAKIN BUY IT if you just "want a little bit." because this is not something like that.these donuts are honestly something close to the love somebody must have for a beautiful song, or for their child. where it just consumes you so completely that any idea you had about how it was going to look has to go out the window in that moment.thank you heidi and mom's donuts and chinese food to go and starcrawler for playing your little song on the podium so that i jogged by. and went in. and what the hell it's so freakin good. also, they are making a "devils food cake donut" special for national donut day which is june 2. so go there.here are photos. anything with crumble has this "special donut crumble" frosting that will destroy you. seriously the killer of egos.
