This was one of my childhood go to spots from when I used to live in L.A. It has been about eight years since I last came, and even though I do not fully remember the exact taste, I just remember really liking the food. Coming back while visiting did not disappoint at all.
Thank you to the lady who works here for taking our photo. She even told me to post it, which made me laugh.
I ate two pans, and yes, the servers can seem a little curt at times, but if you are a local or someone who has been coming for years, you understand that it is just part of the place. The food may not be super extravagant, but you can feel the sincerity in it.

If you want authentic Korean food where the customers are all old school, Korean, this is the spot! Their kimchi is off the charge if you want fresh homemade kimchi. The dumplings are so juicy and delicious, each bite is a mouthful of dumpling inners.

Love the noodles. Extremely well known Korean knife noodle spot. Chicken knife noodle is a must.

We've been coming here consistently for over 10 years and the fresh cut noodles & the soup has been the best compare to any other noodle shops in Korea town but just recently the taste has changed. It's not as good as before. I believe it could be the changing of the chefs in the kitchen. The dumplings are still good though.

The food is delicious, but the staff doesn't greet you when you enter, doesn't ask you what you need while you're eating, and you have to go to the counter yourself to pay, and they don't even greet you when you leave.

I must say that their noodles are exceptionally delicious on cold or rainy days. Although all the noodles were quite good, the red bean noodle soup stood out as one of my favorites. It was not too sweet, allowing the delicate flavors of the red beans to shine through. The dumplings and kimchi were also delicious.

Restaurantji Recommends
I heard about this place from family and friends for its food. How good it was and etc. So I ordered a take out chicken kalgooksoo and steamed dumplings. The dumplings were good that s why I didn’t put 1 star. The reason I put 2 star is the noodle was good but not the way they do business. Like so many other Korean restaurants such as Kang Nam who is nearly cross the street from the restaurant. Tariff hasn’t kicked in yet they do business as if it has. For example I counted the number of shredded chicken pieces on the noodle it was about 8 and was about 3 inches long. Yes I measured it. I split this with my family the noodles were overwhelmingly plentiful but not the chicken. To charge 16.99 for the noodles is unconscionable when there is so little chicken. This practice is very pervasive in k town now. I’m very ashamed of my country business men and women. Who are they taking advantage of? the customers are mainly their own country men and women, Koreans. Are there any more morale left in this town? I boycott eating out in Korea town restaurants like that since there are other k town restaurants who are not taking advantage of Koreans. Those are the ones I will be going to. I will be cooking more at home. I also how elderlies can afford this trend and stay eating nutritious.
Mother’s Day take out order. Red bean porridge. Simple enough. Picked up food, delivered to mother’s, and drove back home to wife, the other mother.
Mother calls and says she got Galbi tang and had already called restaurant about wrong order and employee asked to come pick up the correct order.
Arrive to pick up correct order and three employees including owner scolds my wife for not bringing wrong order. Mind you, we weren’t asked to bring it and mother’s house is 30 minutes away, one way. Employees begin to lecture my wife and she comes out pissed because they want to charge us the wrong order to pick up the correct order. They stand their ground and want us to bring the wrong order the next day. What the freak.
I go in and handle the situation. Unnecessary stress. These ggangpaes.
Great! very tasteful noodles! Big Portion for the Money!
