The food is very good, but the cashier that is there when they open is so rude. Her attitude towards people is very unpleasant.

So happy that this place exists! My go-to Malatang and malaxiangguo place. I probably come here at least once in two weeks or so. I also always get the guobarou to share. Perfectly crispy with good portion size and ugh the sauce I sometimes just day dream about it lolThe ingredients are always well stocked and super fresh. I usually get the medium hot level for both dishes and they’re just the right amount of spice. The workers are also nice. The first time I visited I had a lot of questions and they were very attentive. Never had issues with their service during any visits. Highly recommend! It's not the thick, spicy flavor I used to eat in China. Is it a mild, Koreanized flavor? So it’s a taste that anyone can enjoy. I kept thinking about it and coming back for it again. Haha. If you put enough ingredients, add beef, and eat it all together, the price isn't cheap, but... I'll go eat it tomorrow too.

The next time you go to eat Mala Hongtang, Halla at me!What I ordered: Malatang, Mala XiangguoFood: My favorite Mala restaurant in all of SoCal! You pay by weight, so you choose your own ingredients and bring it to the front where they measure your bowl. They have various types of vegetables, mushrooms, meats, noodles, fish cake, and so much more! I choose the malatang, which is a soup dish, when the weather is cold outside. The ingredients soak up the broth, making each bite hot and flavorful. The Malaxianguo is my usual go-to, which is a stir fry dish, where even more flavor is poured into each ingredient with their various spices.Service: The servers here are always kind. Nice and quick!Ambiance: All inside seating. The restaurant is not too big, but there usually is no wait. You do have to pay for parking though, which is typical of los angeles.

Delicious and fresh ingredients but pricey. Be careful of how much you put into that bowl as it adds up fast. The cost of my $20.14 (tax incl.) bowl of food didn't seem that worth it. I wish there were more meat options besides beef.

Stop misleading! Almost everything in this shop is typical of Chinese food and culture.First of all, the shop name is purely spelled in Chinese Pinyin: PIXIU 貔貅, a special Chinese Myth animal which does not exist in the real world, MALA 麻辣 numbing and spicy, HONGTANG 红汤 spicy soup.Secondly food TANG HU LU also pure Chinese spelling in Hanyu Pinyin, 糖葫芦. This fruit candy stick originated from China. It has a history of a few hundred years. In Chinese it is called Bing Tang Hu Lu or Tang Hu Lu. It was introduced to South Korea recently by Chinese students studying there, so it is becoming popular now in SK.Thirdly the several main dishes being served in this shop are Chinese dishes too, and their English names are also spelled in the pure Chinese Pinyin like Guo Bao Rou 锅包肉 a speciality in Northeast China , MALA XIANG GUO 麻辣香锅 a spicy Sichuan food, MALA HONG TANG 麻辣红汤, also spicy Sichuan food, YANGZHOU Fried Rice 扬州炒饭 from Yangzhou China, SHOU ZHUA BING 手抓饼 from Xinjiang China, Deep fried Gyoza is 炸饺, where Gyoza is the Japanese transliteration of Chinese dumpling - 饺子 Jiaozi (Jiao = Gyo & Za = Zi).What a shame! Shame on you. Now you are using Chinese food and name, you should not audaciously claim they are Korean. In fact, LOL, you are being sinicized, how funny. It demonstrates again, what China has is the model or fashion chased by Koreans.

It really baffles me that Koreans can't stop their cultural appropriation of China.

The taste of the malatang was great! However, the meat was a bit overcooked and thick than i usually like my meat in my malatang. Also, my boyfriend who got the malaxiangguo enjoyed the taste as well, however, it felt a bit too oily. The service was good. The price was a bit steep, however.

I really wanted to just take off one star because the price transparency of everything was not visible, or apparent. The food is priced by the weight so obviously the more you get the more expensive it can be! You were also charged for the soup or stirfry option of how your food is cooked ($4-$5 depending on the option) what meat you choose ($4-$5) and the skewers ($2 per skewer). It’s pretty important to be mindful of what ingredients you use because again, you are charged by the weight. The food was really well seasoned and cooked well! I got a soup base in my partner got the stirfry. we liked the taste of it but you don’t realize how much it is until the end. I didn’t get that many items and my partner didn’t either; we both probably got an appetizer worth of food and the total was $50 for both of us. While some people feel like that might be a fair price point, it would’ve been nice to know how much each ounce was, if tare is included, and just more general transparency. If the price of this place is not a dealbreaker for you and you are in the mood for late night spicy Chinese Sichuan flavors, definitely check this place out.

I freaking love Korean food! My friends and I wanted to try a new Korean spot and we saw this spot on Tik Tok. This place did not disappoint. I'll start with parking; do the valet it's only $3 to valet here. It's in a small shop so definitely valet here. Food: Very very very delicious. It's a small menu; it's like Shabu Shabu style where you pick your noodles, greens, meats etc. You have the option for a stir fry or soup. They do a new thing where they add cheese to your stir fry and it's delicious. If you see my photo that is exactly what I ordered. The service is great! I think it's a family owned business and both our waiters were beyond friendly! Please support this business and if you check in on Yelp you get a free drink!

I have never had dry pot before this and I was pleasantly surprised! A coworker had recommended this place for lunch and we finally went this past week. This was tucked away in a small plaza in Ktown with only valet parking. The restaurant itself is clean and has plenty of seating. It is self-serve so you essentially grab a large metal bowl and start piling as many ingredients from the bar as you'd like. At the register, you can indicate whether you would like dry pot or soup and your spice level. I went with the soup with Level 1 spice (even though I really wanted to try the dry pot) because I was concerned about the spice level. The lady at the register described the Level 1 as a Shin Ramen spiciness -- which I found out wasn't even that spicy and ended up asking for extra hot sauce later. The end product was an enormous piping hot bowl of soup that I barely finished. You could definitely share one bowl if you wanted to. The soup had a kick but also a nice creaminess that I wasn't expecting. Adding the packet of plain ramen noodles at the bar was an absolute game changer and would highly recommend. They also provide sides of white rice as well. The bowl was a lot pricier than I was expecting ($30 for my bowl). There is a base charge of about $18 for the dish and additional charges for each skewer you add and $2-3 if you want to add brisket. Overall, I think it was a delicious meal and perfect for a cold, winter night. The service was very attentive as well. I definitely will be trying the dry pot next time!
