Terrible service and a disrespectful attitude toward delivery drivers.

This is quietly one of the best Thai restaurants in LA. Affordable and excellent.

This place is DELICIOUS. Came here on a late night for a date night, and I can confidently say it’s the best Thai Food I’ve ever had- and I’ve gone to 5+ Thai restaurants! I highly recommend checking this place out!

I have not been in another Thai restaurant that has outrank Prael in food taste and service. Their food is delicious and authentic. The service is amazing.

This used to be one of my favorite go-to restaurants, so I decided to revisit after quite some time. The food is still decent and reasonably priced, which I appreciated.

However, a few things were disappointing this time around. The Thai chili sauce that used to be readily available on every table was missing, and I had to ask the waitress to bring it separately. Not a huge issue, but a noticeable change.

What really let me down was the quality of the papaya salad, which is my favorite dish. The green papaya wasn’t properly shredded and came in large, chunky pieces, which made it hard to enjoy.

The biggest issue, though, was with the takeout service. I had some yellow curry left over and asked to have it packed to go. To my surprise, they put the hot curry directly into a plastic bag. As someone who is aware of the health risks of putting hot food in plastic (like the release of harmful chemicals), I found this very off-putting. I asked if they could use a takeout container instead, but they told me they didn’t have any.
That was hard to believe, especially since I remember always getting proper takeout boxes here in the past.

Even if it means charging a small fee, providing proper containers would be a much better approach. Unfortunately, despite the good flavors, the overall experience and lack of basic service make me hesitant to return.

Very fair prices for very legit Thai food. Walk up window or they will take your order at your table if you are eating there. Small parking lot in back! And plenty of street parking. The egg rolls were crispy, not over cooked or oily. Good flavor and size. The cashew nut dish was full of flavor, chicken had great texture and veggies were still slightly crispy. The Eggplant dish is the same. Vegetables not soft, Eggplant was still eggplanty, not cooked to being soft and having the meat separated from the skin.
Very cute place. Effort was put in for the decor. Staff is busy, busy, busy. Lots of to go and delivery orders pumping through this place. Not a bring folks to impress type of place, but for a good meal at a very fair place, this checks all the boxes.

I ordered this store for delivery, poh tak sea food soup.. they only put 3 pc fake crab! 1 piece muscle ! And 3pieces of shrimps and no fish very disappointed!! What a disgusting 🤮 dishonesty store!! The taste is good but the portions is not worth for $22 plus tax per serving.. ridiculous… !!! I will never buy this store again !! The lady who answered the phone can’t barely speak and understand English horrible store!!! Dishonest store!!!!

Hole in the wall restaurant in Melrose. Paking in rear of restaurant. Best Thai restaurant in Los Angeles. I’m happy to find this restaurant. Thanks Eater. Service is fast, friendly staff, very good dishes and they have free parking. No need to go to Thai town. Must visit if craving Thai food.

Didn’t have high expectations going in, tried it kinda skeptically, but wow—every dish slapped. The food was absolutely divine, and we were blown away with every bite. Seriously, everything we ordered hit the spot. Definitely coming back on my next visit to LA.

So so good. I got the pra kow with ground chicken, mild. Keep in mind that Thai mild is not actual on any scale mild. It was perfect, I liked the amount of basil. The Thai chilies in there were fire- literal fire on the tongue.

Also got the shrimp paste as an appetizer- I loved it. Wrapped in a thin layer of bean curd, great flavor. Shrimp and pork ground together with carrot and scallions, fried? No going wrong.

My mom got the Thai nasi lemak which is like a fermented shrimp paste rice with sweet Chinese sausage, soy sauce pork, slivers of green apple, and fried egg. She liked it and compared it to other places in Thai town that just do not do it as well as Prael.

Will be returning!

Will never get tired of this place. Food is always so good so delicious. I usually order for delivery but I went to eat there this past weekend. Was surprised to see that they changed the egg rolls. When I've ordered for delivery and they're 3 in the other I thibk and they're long. The sauce is delicious bit when I ate there, they were different. 5 small ones and the flavors of the sauce wasn't the same. But everything is was just so good. Will keep ordering from here
