Walked here from little Tokyo because it said it was open. Got here and it was not open, not sure if it’s still operating.
The ramen used to the absolutely incredible. Now, the price has gone up, but the quality got so bad that this is easily the worst ramen in the entire area. I don’t want to pay over $80 for cheap terrible quality food. If I’m going to spend that much, the food better be terrific. But this place let the quality sink, everything tasted terrible, ingredients are missing, and the broth doesn’t even taste like broth, in fact I can’t tell what the liquid is. The whole thing smelled like a dirty kitchen sink……….
My only regret is that I was too full to finish the ramen. The house-made vegan egg was also delicious!
The ramen was around $20, which felt a bit steep. I was surprised (and honestly a little disappointed) to see just two slices of grilled spam on top, along with a few strands of bok choy, some seaweed, and sesame seeds. The noodles were average, and the broth was just okay—but considering the price, the overall quality was underwhelming.
Sadly, my phone died so I couldn’t snap a photo. If you’re a die-hard spam lover, maybe it’s worth a try—lol.
Make it to the farmers market once or twice a year and this is my go to place to eat (and I’m not vegan). It’s nice that this place has sitting for its customers around their bar.
Their hot and cold dishes are all good, can’t go wrong with anything here.
Good ramen
Been to the Market dozens of times and always ignored this place.
But not anymore.
Best meatless ramen I've had to date.
Tell your friends they have tots too. A match made in...LA.
My favorite place for ramen. It’s a must it closed early so get here in time for the deliciousness that awaits .
Classic but New: flavorful, fresh, right balance of juicy/spicy, fresh veg, and deep satisfying umami. Pork cutlets are unexpected shape, but perfectly tender and clean. And the market location is just the perfect lunchtime noodle bar perch for people watching in LA’s vibrant heart.
I haven't had Ramen Hood in a while since they were closed the last two times I was at the market. I walked here after parking at the Music Center garage to have dinner before a show.
So happy I got to try their cucumber salad and gyoza. Both dishes were delicious and I would order them again. Service was friendly and prompt.

I found it on the first day of my trip and came back everyday!!! Excelent vegan ramen! My non-vegan friends also loved it!
the broth was incredibly bland, pork was disgusting, tasted exactly like a spicy mcdonald’s sausage. Incredibly overpriced, 18 dollars for the worst ramen i’ve ever had, and the guy who we ordered from was rude. Only good thing was that they prepared the disgusting bowl fast, and the atmosphere is fine because it’s in grand central market. Not spicy at all either, and ordered the spicy ramen. NEVER GO TO RAMEN HOOD, it’s pretty buns
Great ramen
The garlic ramen was a religious experience.
