**Sasoun Bakery** is one of those cherished Los Angeles treasures that perfectly embodies the soul of Armenian and Middle Eastern comfort food humble, authentic, and irresistibly delicious. Tucked away in a modest storefront that gives little hint of the magic inside, the bakery greets you with the intoxicating scent of fresh dough, sizzling spices, and warm cheese the moment you walk through the door. It’s a place where simplicity meets perfection no frills, no fuss, just honest baking done right. Behind the counter, you can usually spot trays of freshly made **lahmajoun** (Armenian pizza), **cheese beoreks**, and **spinach turnovers**, each one golden, flaky, and filled with the kind of flavor that only comes from generations of tradition. The **lahmajoun** is the star thin, crisp, and covered with a perfectly balanced mixture of seasoned ground beef, tomato, and parsley that bursts with warmth and spice in every bite. It’s the kind of food that makes you close your eyes for a moment because it’s just that satisfying.
The **cheese beoreks** are another must buttery, crisp pastry pockets filled with rich, salty cheese that melt beautifully in your mouth. The **spinach beoreks** and **potato boregs** are just as comforting, and everything tastes best fresh from the oven, when the crust is still hot and flaky. If you go early in the morning, you’ll often find locals lining up to grab their favorites by the dozen, a true testament to how beloved this place is. The atmosphere is casual and welcoming, with the kind of genuine warmth that makes you feel like you’ve stumbled into a neighborhood secret rather than a business. The staff are friendly, often handing you a warm pastry with a smile and a “you’ll love this one,” and they’re always right.
Prices are incredibly fair you can fill a bag with a half-dozen pastries for less than the cost of a single café sandwich elsewhere in the city and the quality is consistently excellent. Everything here is made fresh daily, using time-honored recipes that value flavor and craftsmanship over presentation. There’s no pretense at Sasoun Bakery just authentic Armenian flavors, baked with pride and shared with love. Whether you’re grabbing a quick breakfast, picking up a box to share with family, or simply chasing the nostalgic taste of home, **Sasoun Bakery** delivers every single time. It’s one of those rare places where tradition is alive in every bite a warm, fragrant reminder that some of the best meals in Los Angeles still come wrapped in simple paper, straight from the oven, and served with a smile.

Very unwelcoming people, food is not that great. The person who was helping us left us the bag on the counter for us to put our stuff in, she was not even busy. Very rude and unprofessional. She did not even say hi or smile. Need to work on their customer service first before anything else.

I love the food. I remember when I was in elementary school, my mom would bring me here after picking me up from school. I need to revisit this place soon.

Ive been here a few times just because of there borek that is very good most of the time (sometimes is more dry than usual).Service is horrible Ive had a female with dyed blonde hair help me and she is not very welcoming she has rolled her eyes at me for no reason and shes very vague, This morning I took my children to buy from the bakery as they really enjoy the boreks, and this lady did the same and not only that instead of saying the total she tells him “Pay” and rolls hey eyes. Unfortunately, I didnt get off my vehicle to witness this because im training my children to be a bit more independent, but I honestly wish theyd told me before leaving.

I have fond memories of visiting this place as a child with my parents. Even though we moved out of LA, I make it a point to visit whenever I'm in the city. Always end up with amazing finds! Highly recommend!
