Every single thing here was fantastic. Granted, we didn't try margs but the local wine from Santa Barbara was great and complimented the lobster enchiladas very well. The manfriend got the filet enchiladas and they were also fantastic. Shrimp appetizer was amazing, and even the chips and salsa were 10× better than anywhere else. I can't wait to come back. Service was also perfecto - not in your face but super attentive. Thanks for a great dinner, Sol Agave!

We got the big plate for dos and really enjoyed it. My wife really liked the steak, i liked the carnitas (really good pork flavor), and we both really enjoyed a big garlic shrimp.

However, the star of the show was easily the butter cake. It's in the top 3 cakes I've had in my life, for sure. I would come back to this place just to get more of that cake.

We tried two nights in a row to eat here. We showed up 45 minutes before the posted closing time on the first night and 90 minutes before close the second. Both times they refused us service and said they were closing early due to slow business. The bar was full the second night and several tables were seated both nights. I protested on the second night, reminding them of their closing time, and they told me the kitchen was closed. If you are that slow on a Thursday night 90 minutes before close, then you can't be that good, or perhaps your refusal to seat people is deterring business. Good luck, we won't be back.

Everything we has was fresh made EVERYTHING!! The egg yolks said it all with that deep orange! We loved everything including the excellent service from Gabriel! Check out our video review @TripoutwithSadieandRandThom

Had a great experience dining at the bar here. The bartender (David I believe) and his coworker (Manuel?) were so attentive, friendly and helpful. The food was also delicious.

Mexican food shouldn't be so pricey for the amount served. It had good flavor, trying to hard to make a plate look good when it's almost empty.

I sat at the bar top, Julian and David were amazing bartenders! I am very conservative when buying drinks (usually only get buy one drink) but the drink Julian prepared went for beyond expectation, I had to get me 3 more drinks. He knows what he's doing. Him and David are very attentive and made the experience a million times better. Highly recommend having at least one drink at this bar top! 100/10 service and as a Mexican myself, the beans were actually amazing!

My husband and I have been wanting to try this restaurant for a while. I’m upset we waited so long! This place was amazing! Everything we ordered was delicious...guacamole, shrimp ceviche, jalapeno soup, chile colorado, steak quesadilla & a cheese enchilada. Yes, we went in lol. Our server was great and the vibe was perfect. We will be definitely be returning!!

We had a great experience at Sol Agave before seeing a show at the Nove around the corner. We made a reservation for a Thursday night (though it looked like we would have been able to get a table if we'd walked in. There were lots of people, but it wasn't full...the bar area was poppin!) I'm a vegetarian and my wife isn't, so she had plenty to choose from and, actually, so did I! They have a whole separate vegetarian menu with lots to choose from. I had the Jalapeño Soup for my main. I didn't think soup would be enough and was going to order another dish with it, but the server told me the soup was large and it probably wouldn't be necessary. He was right...it really filled me up. Very cool of the staff to not upsell or to offer that unsolicited advice rather than let me order more than I needed. It'd be cool if they offered a smaller version of the soup in case I wanted a couple different bites. The soup itself had good jalapeño flavor without being overly spicy. I really enjoyed it. The chips and salsa kept coming as we wanted and the beans they came with were delicious. My wife enjoyed the three tacos plate. We also got a side of rice and beans, which was vegetarian but not necessarily overly flavorful. Great atmosphere in this modern dining room with a nice upscale Mexican food experience to go with it!
