The man that called me back about the information of this building or some sort of realty that was connected to this property was dismissive and unprofessional. His name was Corey. He told me that the pricing which was way more expensive than it states on the website. He emailed to tell me to go to Craiglist and some other source which is not a good way to talk to a prospect. The properties in L.A. really need to get their professionalism together.

TL;DR: Produce-forward dishes in an indoor garden-like setting Eileen L.'s REFVIEW for Spring RELEVANT INFO * In DTLA Financial District across from Bradbury Building * Valet parking available on Spring; otherwise, fend for street parking in bustly DTLA * Empty show kitchen... possibly open during brunch? * Beautiful sage wooden chairs were difficult to hang purse * Spring closed permanently?? EXPECTATIONS GOING IN * I was inspired to try this place at the LAT recommendation from the late Jonathan Gold, so we earmarked this restaurant to celebrate Chris K. and my 7 year anniversary, in conjunction with DineLA :D FOOD * Seasonal Market Crudo ($19): Fresh produce and hamachi tossed in light citrusy vinaigrette... so delightful! * Butternut Squash Soup ($12): hearty for nippy evenings * Maine Lobster Risotto ($24): creamy dish with generous chunks of lobster * Branzino ($32): 2 huge flaky filets tucked under perfectly crispy skin, and paired with quinoa in red wine reduction VALUE * Pricey; definitely a date night or brunch spot IMPRESSION OVERALL * Food is light and airy as the restaurant's quaint and delightful décor * Tim was attentive, as were every server who stopped by our table and also acted like our dedicated server... great WeCulture! * Leave it to me to pick a French restaurant for DineLA during Whole30... nonetheless, I survived mostly unscathed ENVIRONMENT / AMBIANCE * Breezy enclosed atrium overlooking Financial District skyscrapers with a grand fountain centerpiece -- loved the view at night, though the glass roof must look even better during brunch / daylight hours * Buzzy, though casual atmosphere... perhaps that's why there's no background music WOW FACTOR * No details spared in the decor, from the grand, warm centerpiece at the entrance to the engraved leather cover menu to the food presentation

LA, this is why you can't have nice things. One of my favorite restaurants in LA. On ambiance alone, this was a winner. Throw in the consistently excellent food and I cannot believe that this restaurant did not have a line around the block every night. I have never had a wine I did not love there. The front of house was always professional and friendly. The cocktails delicious. Why? Why? Now where will my go to restaurant downtown be? Bummer.

We went back last week for the Dine L.A. menu, specially for the Corn Risotto. It did not disappoint. It came with mushrooms, and it was delicious. We also had Heirloom Tomato Gazpacho, Flat Iron Steak and Chocolate & Raspberry. All dishes were beautifully presented. The staff was attentive and very friendly. The yellow and blue umbrellas add to the ambience. My only complaint is that sitting under the sun can be uncomfortable. We could've asked to switch to a different table, but we were almost done with our meal. Spring is a gem.

Food: yummy... not jaw dropping but good quality, nice presentation, and well cooked. *side note: the salmon was cooked completely through and I personally like it a little more moist in the middle but could just be my preference. Gazpacho was amazing! So refreshing and great for a nice hot day. Steak: cooked perfectly, mashed potatoes had lemon in it and I loved that as well. Veggies had a good amount of butter but that wasn't not amazing haha... dessert: nugat was so good! We love pistachio and it was crunchy and sweet and fluffy. So good (: Waitstaff: friendly, loved our server! ...though read my below comment about initial greeting. Ambiance: open, nice, light. We sat in the atrium right next to the fountain. Such a cool spot I wish I could just hang out there and chill on the couches. Parking: street or parking lots Came here for DineLA, we were able to get a 2pm reservation but upon arriving we were told the kitchen was closing and we had to order right away. I'm not mad at all since we knew we wanted to check out the DineLA menu but I feel that if you offer reservations at 2 (when you close at 230) through Opentable.... the first thing that comes out of the hosts/maitred shouldn't be along the lines of please hurry we are closing. Having worked at a fine dining restaurant myself I get it, having to close up and get set up for dinner.... but then I'd say why not have an hour block to eliminate this problem rather than allowing reservations to occur 30 min before closing but having to tell those patrons to essentially hurry up. Just my thoughts.

DineLA #1, July 2018 Summer Edition, Lunch Menu $25. Once again, Chef Tony Esnault never ceases to amaze me! A few weeks ago, my dinner mates and I were here for our monthly dinner meetups, and of course, celebrating a birthday dinner as well. We were all excited to be sitting at the Chef's counter, watching every play by play in action. Unfortunately, Chef Esnault was on vacation at the time. However, his amazing team still took great care of us. Seriously, hospitality at its finest here! This time, joined by awesome Yelper Isobel L., we got to sit at the Chef's counter again, and guess what, Chef Esnault and his wife here today, woohoo!!! Best part of all, Chef Esnault and his team took great of us (as always!), and even Chef Esnault poured the first action shot onto our first dish, and checked in on us in between meals to see how we were enjoying the DineLA lunch dishes. At one point, he was even jokingly scolded me to stop taking so many pictures of my salmon dish, and eat it, lol! After checking out the DineLA Lunch Menu, here's what we got and shared: Drinks: Iced water refilled throughout our meal. Isobel got the $8 Le Tour de Grasse Cocktail, which consisted of Gruven vodka, lavender, lemon, and soda. Served in a Collins (tall, round glass), and garnished with a slice of lime rind, it was a tasty and light summer drink. They also have a second drink featured on there, which is the $9 Smooth Operator (brown butter bourbon). I would have considered getting that, but my Asian Flush would have been so visible at work, haha! For $25, you get a two-course meal, which consists of the main entrée, and your choice of an appetizer or dessert. Isobel got the appetizer, while I got the dessert. Everything that we ate today, highly recommend getting it all! APPETIZER Heirloom tomatoes gazpacho, amazingly delicious, chilled and refreshing! Chef Esnault was so sweet to split the cold soup into two bowls for us. Also, he poured the first action shot for us, which was a deliciously, creamy tomato sauce into our bowls, awww! Already, Isobel and I were loving this dish! The yellow sauce is the olive oil when blended with the vegetables. There's also chopped vegetables on top too. The vegetables consisting of round, tiny, plump heirloom tomatoes, along with chopped cucumbers and celeries were chilled and super crisp! There was even a tiny dusting of chili powder, which provided that nice hot and cold contrast for your tastebuds. The colors in this dish were so vibrant, what a fantastique summer dish, especially, for this hot weather! ENTREES: We each got one, ate half and then switched, lol! So ever observant, even Chef Esnault noticed it himself! I got the Salmon, absolutely amazing! Best of all, it was a huge piece too! Great for splitting between us, yay! The salmon piece itself was flaky, savory and oh, so tender! With every bite, I totally feel the fish oil absorbing into my vital organs (yup, just like the trout that I had last time!). Served with bell peppers, onions, potatoes, piquillo (sweet red pepper taste without heat), tomatoes, parsley and espelette (chili pepper powder in lieu of black pepper), such a healthy and wholesome dish! Isobel got the Corn Risotto (vegetarian), which was her favorite from the last dinner we had here. This time, I got to enjoy half of it, and it was fabulous! Consisting of carnaroli rice, so puffy and soft. Also, the sweet corn, cremini mushrooms, and chives provided that additional creamy texture, which made the risotto taste so good! In contrast to the savory salmon dish, this sweet dish was succulent and of course, when cooked with butter, seriously, you can't go wrong with that, lol! DESSERT Nougat. The presentation was really lovely! It reminded me of a terrarium. The nougat was soft and creamy, without tasting too heavy or sticking to my teeth. Mixed in with the chopped apricots, pistachios and caramelized almonds, it was refreshing without tasting overly sweet. Lastly, there was five, yummy dots of apricot jam around the glass and topped with a charcoal tuile (F

Spring never disappoints! We brought friends from out of town, and we had a wonderful meal, starting with the white shrimp appetizer. The duck received rave reviews for the richness of flavor as well as the preparation. The saffron in the bourride complemented the fish. We closed with a panna cotta that was light and fresh. Spring is such a gem. We always enjoy our dinners there, and we are happy to have it in DTLA!

Well, they've moved to Yelp rez now so this might not matter. Really bad service. Mehhhhh food. Ordered drinks that never arrived. Pre-ordered birthday cake (on phone, not through Open Table) that never arrived. Food came out sporadically and, even though the restaurant was only 1/3 filled, was served to the wrong people. I'd skip it for brunch. Very attractive place. Not a keeper in my book!

Arrived at the start of the dining service, so very few people and very quiet which was nice. Our server was friendly and efficient. The food blended flavors and used fresh ingredients in a creative way - I had the hamachi starter and the pasta with rabbit. We shared the rhubarb mousse dessert which was light and refreshing, thought rhubarb could have been cooked just a bit more to make it softer and bring out the flavor better.

We went to spring with our neighbors and were quite charmed by the very knowledgeable and kind staff. Sometimes in LA you can bump up against attitude no servers, this was absolutely not the case here at this gorgeous restaurant! The food was amazing, the sommelier was attentive and extremely helpful. All the wait staff polite and enthusiast. We had the tasting menu and enjoyed it immensely. Tony and Yasmine, the owners are also amazing! This is truly a gem in Los Angeles!

My friends and I had a wonderful time at Spring last Saturday to celebrate one of our birthdays. We plan to bring our families separately to enjoy this beautiful refreshing restaurant!

It was a great dining experience for my husband and I. The sommelier was great at getting is a wine that went with both of our meals and that we'd enjoy. We got their risotto and the rabbit pasta, which was delicious! It might have been one of the bestnmeals we have had in a while.

Fresh ingredients, perfectly seasoned and generous portion made the broccoli soup perfection. The bronzsno was simply delicious, as was the chocolate & coffee mousse / ice cream dessert. Price for this lunch time masterpiece was very reasonable.
