Came here and waited over an hour for food. Then one the food actually came, the waitress had a disgusting amount of dirt under her fingernails when handing us our food. Just leads me to believe they dont wash their hands here. Gross.

Love this sweet lil spot, they have a library to read while you’re sipping and delicious fresh sandwiches!

Fantastic food (Bacon, Egg, and Cheese and Croque-Jambon) and the coffee was excellent! Great spot for a quick bite. Will definitely be coming back!

Spotted this place while walking the bridge above with my dog a few months ago and wish we would've tried it sooner. Untouched area of Glendale Blvd that reminds me of old LES in NYC the way you see it in docs and wish it still was- authentic and not try-hard. Indoor and outdoor seating. Interior reminds me of eclectic coffee shops from the late 90s/early 00s. Owner is totally cool, outgoing, friendly. Really extensive drink menu; Japanese cold brew was AWESOME. BF had BEC sandwich and coffee, I had the Pastel Azteca. Will definitely walk back to try more- Would love to try the ENTIRE menu to be honest.

Place is great. And the potatoes in the breakfast burrito were cooked like proper breakfast potatoes ?

This place is utterly fantastic. I spent/spend a majority of my professional career providing services to restaurants and although this joint is not a professional client of mine, I spend a lot of time in restaurants and every time I come here I'm blown away by how good it is. It reminds me of San Francisco where every restaurant is great. Julio, the owner...even though he can take me or leave me and would rather leave me, actually cares. The whole experience is like a vacation

street level cafe is seriously excellent. I don't say what I'm about to say lightly... This place makes one of the best cappuccinos I've ever had the delight of drinking. Followed in a close second by one of the sweetest, flakiest, crispiest chocolate croissants I've ever had the pleasure of eating.

I went here this morning for brunch. I order the street level cafe with street level cafe. The crab party was surprisingly amazing. The wait was min at noon but the service was pretty fast and friendly. They also have a pretty strong coffee brew game going on.

Be bold enough to dream and bold enough to try new LA breakfast spot. So today we're gonna go for a breakfast adventure.Street Level Café is a typical small breakfast/lunch café hidden in Echo Park. It's front outside looks very modest; the inside however has interesting decor artifacts. Atmosphere was chill and homie. Staff and owner were cordial, assiduous and professional. I came here on a Saturday morning a few minutes after they opened expecting people but there was none. It was my first time and decided to take my time perusing their food/drink menu. I like how they uniquely named their french toast items. After a minute of deliberation, I decided to get a French Toast (S…MMM), a coffee and orange juice. Their French Toast was thick, fluffy and soft stuffed with peanut butter, raspberry preserves, banana and whip cream; drip coffee and OJ were good. Service was modest. Indoor space was spacious enough for few tables/chairs. Street parking only. Free Wifi. Overall, it’s a modest breakfast café.

My first impression when I walked in? WOW!! Totally, absolutely loved the look and feel of the place. Many places to sit. Loved the lighting. There was a room towards the left which was darker but looked just as comfy.

Just stopped in on a whim and so happy I did. Totally unexcepted and completely impressed. Ordered the Bannannie and it was hands down the best sandwich Ive ever eaten. Simple perfection made with care and pride. Definately worth it. Im already dreaming of a return visit.

Over the centuries, there have been many great cafes - the famous Cafe Centrale in Vienna where Revolutionaries had coffee springs to mind, or the Bar Britanico in Buenos Aires where a Bohemian crowd mixed with WW1 veterans and the great Borges. Its in that spirit that I mention Street Level Cafe - the secret cafe that Echo Park locals all know and enjoy, and where the spirit of Chango's still lives - free from overpriced, bland coffee and commercialism of the sort that blights our area - no names mentioned here, of course. Its a place where great coffee and food can be found, and one that no one will ever tell you about - its why its such a great spot, hidden under the old Pacific Electric bridge. Don't tell anyone about it.
