This place is known for their galbi jjeem and I should have tried it. But (a) the portions are huuuge, as in for more than 1 person, maybe up to 4 people, and (b) at $100 it is expensive. I should return with a large group so we can order and share it. There is an option for cheese which the waiter will use a torch at the table to melt and toast it. I've never had galbi jjeem with cheese. Maybe it tastes like a cheeseburger? I'd be willing to try is there was an option to have it on the side, vs fully committing by covering everything with it.

So for this visit I had the sollung tang with tendon. It hit the spot, very creamy and flavorful, and the tendon was soft & tender. I would definitely return for this alone.

This is one of my must-visit Korean restaurants whenever I’m in LA. As a Korean, I can confidently say the food here is just as good as what you’d find in Korea. The flavors are incredibly authentic, and the side dishes are exceptional. I particularly loved the chive kimchi and cubed radish kimchi (kkakdugi) — so flavorful!

We ordered Seolleongtang (ox bone soup), Yukgaejang (spicy beef soup), and boiled dumplings (dumplings cooked in water). I added extra meat to the Seolleongtang, but honestly, the portion was generous enough without it. The Yukgaejang was a bit underwhelming, so next time, I’ll probably stick with the Seolleongtang or try their Galbitang (short rib soup). Oh, and don’t miss out on their Galbijjim (braised short ribs) — it’s absolutely delicious!

The restaurant is open 24/7, and parking is convenient. Just a heads-up: there might be a wait during lunch or dinner hours, so try to avoid peak times if possible. Highly recommended for authentic Korean cuisine!

We went early to avoid the long lines. Pretty sure you can't make a reservation to this place. Also you need to have your whole party there and you'll need to order prior to siting down.

Now the food....

Five of us shared a large #25 with cheese (melted in front of you with a torch). It took a few minutes to arrive, but we had a lot of side dishes and rice to eat while waiting.

Servers are nice, it's always crowded and busy.

Valey Parking is available but limited. Street metered parking is hard to find.

The food was great! It was a bit pricey but the portions and ingredients made it worth it. We ordered #25 and #3 and enjoyed both dishes!

Unfortunately, the customer service was disappointing. We visited around 4 p.m. and it wasn’t a busy time at all, only few tables. While I didn’t expect great service, I was disappointed by the lack of even BASIC customer care! Our server didn’t greet us, simply placed water and cups on the table without a word, no smile and didn’t check in at any point. It was NOT busy, and those are very basic things giving your customer a friendly dinning experience. Why would I even tip someone of such an attitude…

Another concern was seeing a small pet allowed near the kitchen area, likely from a friend or co-worker of the staff. I love animals and I have pets of my own, but it’s not appropriate to have pets in close to the kitchen, especially with staff interacting closely with them during the work time.

I wouldn’t consider returning because of the customer service. If you’re looking for a better dining experience, you might want to try another location or consider takeout.

It is SO GOOD every time I come here! The beef is tender, the soups is full of umami, the banchan is delicious, the service was excellent. Can’t wait to come back again.

Terrible communication and service, and the seolleongtang was pretty mid. I thought we'd come here since Han Bat Sul Lung Tang (the OG) is closed on Sundays, but it does not compare. 😅

Very UNPROFESSIONAL service!!!!! We were on line and our name was on the waitlist but because of their lack of communication gave us a very bad dinner. We waited patiently for them to call us but then because one of the staff is swapping shift with the other guy and didn't communicate well to let us in. We waited so long on line and all he said is "You have to get back to the line, what do you want me do to now?"(the people who came after us were on line was called by name by the waitlist order and he never called our name because their coworker lack of communication) I'm paying for a service!!!!! Not for a long wait unhappy dinner!!!! DONT COME HERE!!!!!!
