Great service but had to go back to try different flavors .. still thought the tuna mayo was the best ! This place isn’t as busy as there other LA location! We had the mushroom one this time and I wish it was a little more saucy because it just tasted a bit dry. Still glad we tried it though !

Chill little spot with super comforting onigiri. I love the chicken & pork curry, and the miso beef. Always so yummy!

Went here yesterday for the first time with friends. I was told it was an awesome onigiri shop and thus was interested. The place had a few people but it was not very busy by any means. I ordered the miso beef, miso mushroom and the monthly special A5 Wagyu. Service was quick and everything was quick. The miso beef was okay. The miso mushroom was delicious. The A5 Wagyu… holy mother of god. My partner and I split it and honestly regretted getting it. It was horrendously salty and overpeppered. Our mouths burned from the over abundance in black pepper. EVEN THE RICE was overseasoned. I wondered if the person who made it lost their sense of taste.I wish I could give the miso mushroom a 5 star on its own (the miso beef would be a 2/5), but the offensive flavors of the Wagyu was just so bad. If I come back, I would only get the miso mushroom. I’m too leery to get anything else.

Quick, solid, and filling meal! The onigiris were served warm and made quickly. It is on the pricier side, about $5 each, but good to try when you're in a rush! The exterior and interior are really clean and cozy. There's a significant amount of seating for your small party! The only complaint I would have is that the miso beef rice was super crumbling and kept falling apart.. I'm not sure if it was just because of the day or not, but it made it kind of a mess to eat :( but the meat was super tasty and so was the spicy salmon!

Great spot for a quick lunch! The omusubis are super yummy and can be wrapped to go to be eaten later just like in Japan. The other items from the kitchen like the karaage and udon are also super yummy! Highly recommend.

Super super delicious onigiri and katsu!! I loved it. I got the spicy tuna and beef and they were perfect. On the pricier side but hey, that's LA! Food came out quick and it is in a cute little spot. They did their best decorating the alleyway but would love a little more effort out there.

I have been coming to this place for over 10 years. The owner always seems to have an attitude. After spending over $70 I asked if she could sprinkle some of the sesame topping on top. Mind you I had paid for four extra of the Furikake. She told me it was inside, and I said OK can I have some on top and she just looked at me and then she and the employees just exchanged looks and then said nothing to me. Definitely my last time here. To the owner I hope it was worth it. I know there are many others that will resonate with my review.

The omusubi miso beef and Tokyo Tori flavors were our choice today. And the Barley tea was so good, too. The decor was well researched and designed for sure! Impressive little restaurant bolstered with well-thought Japanese influence! Felt like we were in Japan as we walked through the alley to sit! Taste was on point. Warm, freshly prepared and so so filling. When you go, make sure to ask how to portion your order based on your hunger!!

TLDR: Pretty good, but probably not worth $5 per musubi Sunny Blue feels like an Americanized, trendy version of a shop when I could go to Mitsuwa and get a similar experience for half the price. Don't get me wrong - the Miso Beef Musibi was great and it's delicious when prepared warm and fresh but the portion sizes are pretty small and this is more of a snack rather than anything substantial. The spicy salmon was eh and the takoyaki was pretty decent. There's a cute little outdoor patio and the musubis came out quickly but not sure I would go out of my way to get this.

I could eat here EVERY day. Seriously... I tried 4 different flavors and enjoyed them all. Not sure I could choose a favorite. It was cool to get to see the process while ordering, but it was busy so our order still took a bit longer than I expected. Not a problem, totally worth it. Probably good I don't live closer, or I'd be here every day.
