The boba shop may not be in that good a location. It’s at the intersection of Santa Monica and sawtelle boulevard. But I went as it was rated super high on google.The shop is well decorated and is a good place for dating maybe.However, it’s the WORST boba shop I’ve ever been to.First to complain is the tipping trick. U need to opt out tips even before u order on the machine, and the tip is by default 20%. I was caught by the trick, and was shocked to find that a small milk tea cost ~$10 with tax and tips.The staff is friendly, he was also embarrassed and offered to return me the money. So I guess that the shop may be franchised and it’s the ‘real’ shop owner who set up this trick, which can embarrass both customers and the staff.But couple dollars more is acceptable if the tea is really good, also, couple dollars are not that a big deal. Therefore, I just paid.However, the tea is really disappointing. It’s too sweet, boba is too small and not chewy.I’ll never come to this place again honestly.

Very cute boba shop, nice place to study! Easily accessible by bus, reasonable prices, and good boba! They also have outlets to study, and I never felt pressured to leave. Good vibe all around. I will be coming back soon!

Pretty good boba. I got the milk tea. It's wayyyyy too sweet so ask for less sweetness. That's the mistake I made. I got the milk tea boba with oatmilk. Service was good and it's cute inside. People were in there studying. Nothing special. I probably wouldn't come back. Meter parking in the area.

Date: December 29, 2023 Two tea spots back to back? Wow. lol. I've been eyeing this spot since it opened because I am a HUGE pandan fan and they had pandan milk tea. Finally got the chance to try it out today. Walked in around 2pm and there were two other guest there. They have a self order kiosk on the side or you can order directly from the cashier. The menu is right above so it's easy to see. I thought it was only street parking so I parked a block away but turns out they have a parking lot behind. Not sure how big it is but that's always good to know seeing its location is rough to only have street parking. Ordered and then yelped check in and I need to stop doing that because there is a 15% off with check in, so REMEMBER TO CHECK IN FIRST. Took about 5 minutes and my drink was out. It was freaking delicious!!! I got the recommended 2% milk and also the 75% sweetness and it was perfect! Highly recommend if you're a pandan fan. Thank you guys!!

Tea Mug Boba is a relatively new boba shop that enters the Sawtelle fray. It's a homely boba shop that has more of a SE influence in terms of pandan flavors and Vietnamese coffee. The pandan ( would recommend no lower than 75% sweetness) certainly has that pandan flavor but can be a bit gritty, esp at the end. The classic boba had a mocha horchata like flavor and texture but was tasty. About 5.95 for a drink to 6.25 for a smoothie

Great family-owned boba place! The teas are fresh and made in house. They are pretty high in quality. I got Tiger Milk Tea ? and it was a banger! Got it with low sugar (25%) and it tasted fantastic! Definitely coming here again.
