I hate to say it, but the burgers aren't anything special. You'll get better bang for buck at an In-and-Out for the same style of burger.
Banana cream pie and fries are absolutely worth trying.

I first visited The Apple Pan when I first came to California over 40 years ago. The menu is the same now as then, and the burgers just as good. The only thing that has changed is that the small parking lot that used to be behind the restaurant is now a lovely patio for outdoor dining, so the parking that was always limited, is now even more so, but you're much more likely to get a seat to enjoy a terrific burger!

An amazing classic spot with old-school charm and incredible burgers. Simple, authentic, and full of character - definitely one of those iconic places you have to experience. I had the famous apple pie with vanilla ice-cream!

We loved this place the first time we ordered, so we tried it again and couldn't have been more disappointed. The hickory burger and fries tasted like they were old or had been sitting out all day, and the coconut cream pie tasted stale, worse than a Ralphs pie.
We really liked this place the first time but given the quality control issues we won't be risking it again.

I was pretty disappointed with my visit. The fries were cooked well and had a nice texture, but they were very bland and lacked seasoning. The burger itself was a good size, but unfortunately the taste was not good at all — it just felt off and didn’t live up to the reputation this place has.
Overall, the experience didn’t match the hype, especially considering how iconic this spot is supposed to be.
