Wheelchair accessibility: 1 Step up into outdoor seating, there might be an out of the way ramp. Staff is nice tho, best to just ask for help if necessary. seating in the restaurant is either tight squeeze for some wheelchairs or tall barstool seating. Small bathroom but manageable.

I've been here many times in the past and the last time was about 5-10 years ago. Food was always great, but this recent visit was very disappointing to say the least. We have always ordered the same items: pastrami, Royale and garlic fries. Today the pastrami was dry AF, which was also on the Royale. Fries were good and service was just mediocre. I usually get a pint of beer from Eagle Rock Brewery, but none was on tap. Not sure if they're still around or not, but their Pale Ale is one of the best. Seeing that we have to commute from Orange County, this was mostly likely our last visit. Back to The Hat.Parking: Lots on both sides of the restaurant and a few spaces in the street.

Where do I begin? First, I'm a born and bred New Yorker. My favorite sandwich bar none of a pastrami on rye bread. When I first went to the Oinkster with a friend who had been there many times, I was told to try the Oinkster Pastrami as opposed to the regular pastrami because since I know pastrami well, I should try what they are famous for. I agreed and ordered it. WOW! WOWIE! It is so incredibly delicious. I would never have thought that my favorite sandwich could have been heightened. It is their house-cured pastrami with red cabbage coleslaw, caramelized onions, and Swiss cheese on a French roll that I crave now. I am a regular visitor to the Oinkster and I pair my sandwich with the Belgian Fries. They are original fresh, hand-cut and twice-fried Kennebec potatoes. You can use their House-made Sauces which include OiNKSTER ketchup, OiNKSTER chipotle ketchup, Guerrero Farms Ranch, garlic aioli, thousand island, or bleu cheese. This is one place that is the perfect description of comfort food IMHO. They are famous for their burgers but I'm so hooked on the Oinkster pastrami, I may never got to taste one. The restaurant itself is housed in a former Tastee Freeze with the iconic steep pitched roof and signage so you get a nostalgic feel when you first see the place. It was also once Jim's Burgers that featured pastrami but now only the building and unique signage also with a pitched angle remains. However, the food is much different than that old fast food chain. This is one stop that you won't want to pass by or eat so fast. Savor it. It is spectacular.

What a great little restaurant. Pastrami and piggie fries were delicious. I got the Ube shake on a recommendation from a friend and it did not disappoint. Really rich flavor!

One of my favorite places for pastrami and burgers. Their fries are also amazing. Don't forget the garlic aoli and their homemade ketchup, especially the chipotle ketchup. And you can't skip dessert with their ube milk shake.
