It is such a shame that this is a beautiful place with great ambiance, music and view,
but the food is terrible. Drinks are OK.

service was slow, and my scallop mushroom skewer came without the mushrooms đ¤Źđ¤Ź 3 tiny pieces of toast for $4, and a weird kid-sized pool took up half the venue. the happy hour menu wasnât even available because of some corporate event. bad

Atop the Kimpton on Wilshire is a jewel Videre is phenomenal rooftop and understated experience with a great wow factor. It overlooks to the north the entire city and its an oasis of peace in the skies. Avery was our server and was kind and always attentive to our leisurely brunch needs. The breakfast sandwich I recommend with several glasses of champagne. There is also a neighborhood card that one can obtain for those of us locals who love to frequent beautiful spaces like these. Thank you, Avery!

The expresso to milk ratio here is spot on. its incredibly smooth with a velvety micro-foam that holds its texture until the last sip. Not too bitter, not too milky-just a perfectly balanced, comforting cup. A solid 5/5 for any coffee lover !.

Great food with the best view in Hollywood. This is the best kept secret in L.A. talk about movie star hideaway. It's the best place to get a light breakfast of full on dinner. It is sure to please your pallet!

E. Coli Poisoning
I tested positive for E. Coli after a meal there! My husband and I went to Videre on Jan 31st and had our first meal of the day around 11 am. Then about 4 hours later, without consuming anything else, we BOTH fell sick and developed symptoms including vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain, and low fever. We went to urgent care, and as everybody would normally agree at this moment, the doctor said it was most likely food poisoning from the morning. We did a stool test on Feb 2nd because I was not feeling better. My result came back positive for E. Coli! My husband had a faster recovery; meanwhile, I was in bed for six days. I ordered avocado toast and my husband ordered the steak hash.
My positive test was sent to the Health Department right away. I was contacted and questioned thoroughly by the Health Department, who opened an outbreak investigation. The business wasnât cooperative at all. We asked for a refund for the meal and compensation for the doctor visit, which was less than $200 in total. They reluctantly refunded the meal but refused to compensate for the rest because it was an âisolated incident.â If anyone who also fell sick ate there, please report it to the health department, even if you didnât get checked up by a doctor, because it counts, it matters. Way too often, we let food poisoning cases go unchecked, unreported, relying on our bodies to get rid of the bacteria on their own. However, it wouldnât be so easy for people like me, who have underlying conditions (SIBO in my case). As I am still recovering from SIBO, this has caused tremendous stress to me physically and mentally.

RESPONSE to business 2/22/2026
Since youâd like to mention âimportant contextâ, here you go:
We called the health department on Feb 11th to follow up on our reports, and here are the inspection findings, which are public information -
1) Poultry was stored above other produce in the fridge instead of being below, as it should be.
2) Plates lacked sufficient sanitation spray.
3) Excessive grease had accumulated in parts of the kitchen.
4) Clams lacked labeling.
5) Knife storage was problematic.
In addition to the above, our email correspondence ended with you refusing to provide your insurance information after you obtained our medical records.
If you have no wrongdoing, why are you afraid of us filing a claim?
If it werenât because of my SIBO condition, I may not have gone to check, just like a lot of others, which would have led this to go unreported. So what you want to say might be an isolated report, not an âisolated incidentâ. You donât need to explain how E. Coli works. You think we didnât look into our dining history the week prior with the health department thoroughly together to get an idea of the likelihood of where we could get E. Coli from? Both my husband and I got sick at the same time! You are arguing against common sense now. Even if we took leftovers home and they tested positive for E. Coli, you may still say it was our hands. Even if E. Coli wasnât present at the moment of the inspection, how can you say it wasnât present the day we ate there? And who knows if it's the eatery's handling rather than the kitchen? You denied the possibility of causing our sickness, refused to cover our roughly $100 urgent care bill, saying you âempathizeâ with my âphysical distressâ is hypocritical.

Very disappointed. Service was slow, and I was terribly sick afterwards. Do not visit!
EDIT: The health department found 5 violations while investigating after our report, and given the timing of our illness, there is really no doubt as to the source of our sickness.

Rooftop pool, bar, reasonable food, great view. On a sunny day it's a classic LA experience. What's not to like?
Amazing space. Food was hit miss unfortunately like the sea bass was amazing for instance but the half chicken was so dry and unappetizing. The corn polenta that came with it was great tho and we also got the crispy potatoes which were also really good. So just avoid the chicken and youâll probs enjoy!

Service was excellent. Food was great. Crispy potatoes and rib eye skewers were yum oh. Very nice rooftop spot. Parking was a little tricky but we figured it out.
