I arrived in Los Angeles for a 5-day trip to the Rose Bowl with my daughter, coming from the Upper East Side of Manhattan. I sent my daughter back to college (Michigan) and decided to continue my stay at the Kimpton. Since then, I spend nearly every afternoon at Videre. It has become my ‘Cheers’. The entire staff from the Manager to the bus boys are OUTSTANDING. I have never felt so at home. I have been here nearly a month and they’ve become my best friends in LA. The terrace is outstanding, gorgeous, well manicured with spectacular views even on a cloudy day. And the unique dishes, while odd for a New Yorker, are outstanding down to the last one. Not one thing has disappointed me. My time spent at Videre has indeed helped me finalize a decision to move to LA - now that I have my place where ‘everybody knows my name’. I cannot recommend this restaurant more emphatically. As well as the hotel to which it is attached.

SHAYZON!

This is such a cozy, intimate, and beautiful rooftop restaurant! The food was delicious, the service was friendly, funny, and excellent, the atmosphere was awesome, and the mountain views from the back were gorgeous. Can't wait to give back during the summer!

6th floor rooftop restaurant is chic, quaint and cool. Nice view of the north and west.Sitting poolside in a large comfy booth we enjoyed the crispy calamari with scratch made yogurt ranch, the double cheeseburger burger on the most beautiful brioche, with butter lettuce, sautéed onion, and tomato. The fries were everything. The baja gin and tonic and lemon twist martini were very good.

Really lovely tranquil space in LA. Staff really friendly and helpful and on a clear day you can get a view of the Hollywood sign. A good selection of food and wide enough for everyone (we had a vegan, a veggie and a few carnivores!).Picture shows the Hollywood sign (honest!)A great place for a business lunch

Went there in the evening. Spectacular location for sure. As a restaurant, not so much. Food was overpriced for what it was. Nice cocktails, if you don´t mind the plastic glasses. Not being guests of the hotel below, we did not feel all that welcome. But the real deal-breaker was the 20 USD (!) charge for two hours of parking. Now that we have enjoyed the view once, we will not come back.Parking: Avoid parking in the hotel if you are only visiting the restaurant - prohibitively expensive.

From the second I pulled in, to the second I pulled out, I loved every second of my stay at Kimpton Hotel Wilshire! The valet attendants were wonderful, the front desk was wonderful and I cannot say enough about Jason, the bartender. He was great along with my server Brian and the GM Wren. I will be back time and time again! Make sure to get the soaking tub! Oh and the chocolate chip cookies! Heaven.

We stayed here and visited the roof a couple of times but only had breakfast here once.My both of my sons had the French toast. I had a larger breakfast that included eggs (scrambled), bacon, toast and hash browns. I managed to be the first one done so I have to say it was good!Boys I think were perhaps expecting something more sugar loaded since they both love things like cinnamon toast crunch cereal but this is a more adult French toast tipped with fruit. Syrup was on the side. It looked good and the boys still ate which was good since we were heading to the airport shortly after and heading East, meaning by the time we were to get back home it'd already be evening. There are nice views from the rooftop. Be aware there is also a smaller pool that shares the space here and sitting is limited. There are also washrooms for guests to use.

Very disappointed with this hotel. I reserved a double bed room. However, open checking in I received a room with only one bed, I paid extra for the two beds, and when I asked to be placed on the correct room, the hotel advised me they were sold out and if I wanted to, I could try another hotel. Absolutely no if you book this hotel, make sure that you confirm to get the room that you were paying for. The bathroom has a bathtub only, no shower very inconvenient. Then, I forgot my iPhone charger in the room, called an hour later to see if I could come back and pick it up, I was not allowed to, just to be told 2 days later, after filing a lost item report, lost and calling the hotel twice that they never found it. Which is a lie, since I know I left it in the room.
