Careful with your phone, mine along with other friends were pick pocketed here. I went the next day and per the staff we were the 5th person that week. Other than that, Short Stop is a great bar with something for everyone. I have yet to try the food, but the drinks, service and ambiance are on point almost every night.

the blonde bartender with her hair up and straight bangs was beyond rude to me and my friends on st. patty's day. my friends had literally just told me how uncomfortable she makes them and about how poor her service was prior and she instantly glared over very aggressively demanding our IDs and giving us stonecold looks. i've always loved the short stop, but i won't be giving them my business any time she's bartending there.

Avoid this place at all costs. I came to The Short Stop for the first time over the weekend with some friends and I will certainly never be back. I had only ever heard great things, so I was excited to finally check out the place that my friends often rave about. The atmosphere seemed pretty lively with no major cause for concern. That was until I reached for my phone and realized it was gone. The next day I made several unsuccessful calls to the bar and eventually decided to take a trip down there to see if anyone had turned in my lost phone. No luck. I was able to chat with the bartender for a few minutes. She was very sweet and I could tell that she wanted to help, but I was shocked when she told me that this had been an ongoing issue here. She actually told me to warn all of my friends because at least a handful people were turning up at the end of each night reporting that their phones had also been stolen. I plan on filing a police report and following up with the business, but I hope that my review will serve as a lesson for anyone considering a night out at The Short Stop. Losing a phone is not just an inconvenience; it's a violation of privacy and trust. Unless you're willing to take that risk, I'd recommend considering any other option for a night out in LA.

10+ phones were stolen Saturday night (1/27/23)!!!!!!!!!! 10! With the amount of security they have working the door and inside you'd hope for better security? 10 phones is too many phones!

This place is crazy but if you want to go out dancing to like 90’s/00’s hip hop/rap this is the spot

Fun bar for a night of drinks and dancing, or a place to celebrate a Dodgers win. However, be aware of your personal belongings and your surroundings. The place can get packed on a Saturday night. I remember having my phone on me when I entered the bar. But when I was leaving about an hour later, I reached for my phone in my crossbody and it was gone. Likely stolen on the dance floor or at the bar. I have to assume it was a local since my phone was showing up at an apartment building a couple of blocks away on Find My. Great spot for a good night, but be incredibly wary of your valuables and who you're around - which could make for a not so fun night. Based on some previous reviews, it seems like a prime spot for pick pocketers.

One of my favorite LA bars. Cool vibe, with a good mix of people. Different music on different nights. Many come before or after Dodger games, but I used to come on week nights mainly. Sure the bartenders aren't the most friendly, nor the security guards but it's a flippn dive spot. Where else can you get a boiler maker for $16 in Echo Park nowadays? Classic eastside bar-nuff said.

The blonde-ponytail, female bartender on Sunday 12/3/23 was so rude and unprofessional. She was busy talking to a man at the bar and when she had a free moment I asked for a drink. After I ordered my drink and she took my payment card, I put my ID down just in case and she stopped what she was doing to look at me in a stone cold stare and say "What am I supposed to do with your ID?" My partner told her some bartenders ask to see it even if the bouncer looked at it in front and she said "I just don't know what you think I'm going to do with that if they checked it in the front" and we just said some do it's an extra precaution. Never once did she smile or show any form of customer service, but acted as if we were nuisances when we're paying customers. Immediately after handing me my drink, she started filling in the male customer sitting at the bar on how I put my ID down for her to check, as if she was annoyed about it. It's extremely rude that I was talked down to for simply being helpful and giving her my ID, and if she didn't want to look at it she could have just ignored it and made no comment but she chose to be rude that day. It is bar etiquette to double check IDs even if the customer says the bouncer checked it, so it seems that she needs to brush up on the bar rules as well as being respectful to customers who have done nothing to her.

Nice local bar in Echo Park. Easy street parking nearby. Chill staff and vibes. Motown Monday was underwhelming.
