Friendly place, great for a casual meal. They have lots options, from ramen, to udon, to sushi.
We had ramen here. It's good. Food came really fast.
We came on a weekend evening, no wait.

I should’ve known better before walking in, because this was the most disappointing ramen spot I’ve ever tried. The food was mediocre, the ramen poorly made, and the service was rude and below standard, with the waitress showing no effort to be polite. What really pushed it over the edge was gratuity being automatically added to my bill without a single mention. If the food and service were truly amazing, you wouldn’t need to require tips, yet I see from other reviews this has been their practice. Forcing gratuity while serving weak food and subpar service is deceptive, blindsided me, and left me completely disrespected as a customer. This place left me with nothing but a terrible impression, and I won’t be coming back.
Yes, the food was as delicious as it smelled! The J-pop playlist really set the mood too!
Specifically chose this restaurant as they had Gluten Free meal options and we were not disappointed. The staff was kind and accommodating to my friend's celiac disease that they made sure there was no cross contamination. Highly recommend!

🚨 DO NOT EAT AT RAMEN TOTOYAMA — CUSTOMER SERVICE HORROR STORY 🚨
I had one of the most uncomfortable and unprofessional experiences I’ve ever had at a restaurant — and I dine out often.
I placed a to-go order at Ramen Totoyama and was handed a receipt to sign. I initially put a zero on the tip line (as many people do with to-go orders), fully intending to leave a cash tip once I decided to dine in. I hadn’t received any food yet. I was literally just sitting down, waiting.
Suddenly, a manager (yes, a manager) walks up to my table and hands my receipt back to me, suggesting I leave a tip — before I’ve even been served a single dish. Completely inappropriate, unprofessional, and frankly, rude.
At that point, I had to speak up. I calmly explained that tips are earned, not demanded, and that I had every intention of tipping in cash — based on my actual experience. But this guilt-tripping, invasive approach was a red flag.
I ultimately asked for a full refund and walked out. I refuse to spend my hard-earned money at a place that pressures customers for tips before delivering any service or food, and then tries to make them feel bad about it.
Let’s be clear:
Tips are voluntary, and they are based on service. Not entitlement.
This place needs serious training on professionalism, hospitality, and customer boundaries. It’s not about the money — it’s about respect and basic courtesy.
If this is how management acts, I can only imagine how they treat staff or handle complaints behind closed doors. Shameful.

They make good sushi here for the price. They also have a nice selection of sake, bubble teas, and other beverages.

Wow this place .. is genuinely so good . The owner and staff are from Japan and it seriously took us back to authentic ramen in Japan. Their tonkatsu ramen was milky white and soooo rich in flavor. Noodles were perfect . You can also have option to make it spicy. Hand down our new ramen spot in LA . We still love shinsengumi and daikokuya but we think we like this place better ! Plus they have free parking !!! Lot entrance is on Figueroa next to dennys and they validate for 75 min. Also have outdoor seating . Surprised this place isn't viral!! They also have gluten free options!

Fantastic place to eat. The only thing is I asked for separate checks at the start of service and she gave us one check.

So good, I forgot to snap a pic. I got the Tonkatsu ramen, and my son got the chicken udon, and both were fantastic. I asked for the extra spicy, but it was just kinda spicy. So if you like spice, be sure to ask for extra, extra amounts. Otherwise, the ramen was fresh and the broth was flavorful. ❤️🤤
