Absolutely phenomenal experience.
Uonigiri is easily one of the best sushi spots I’ve ever been to. The omakase is incredible — every course feels intentional and beautifully balanced. The sushi chef is not only highly skilled but carries a certain level of class and grace in both his presentation and demeanor. You can tell there’s real pride and artistry behind every piece. The food itself is downright amazing — fresh, perfectly seasoned, and plated like art. I can’t recommend this place enough.

Only negative is that it’s next to a dispensary.

The quality is so inconsistent which is unacceptable for the price. One time I had an absolutely fresh and delicious scallop and the next time it tasted rotten. And I’m very confused about the rice, does nobody else notice that it doesn’t have any vinegar like sushi rice does? And they don’t put wasabi in the nigiri like is typical so it requires me to deconstruct each and put it in myself. I know the owner is Japanese so I have to wonder is this style of sushi from a particular region of Japan I’m not familiar with? If so, please correct me and I will remove this review.

Wow… this place left us speechless. Clean, beautiful ambience. Casual but still elegant.

I admire how they make Omakase accessible for people. Great prices and seriously the best and most fresh sushi I’ve ever had.

My friend and I are from out of town and really wanted high quality fish and UO delivered. Every garnish was made with intention and everything was packed with flavor. Every bite SENSATIONAL!

Service was awesome. Sushi chef thanked us on the way out. It was overall a 10/10 experience.

Cannot recommend this enough and just had to write a review because of how awesome this was. My Omakase was just $48 and I left STUFFED!

Didn’t get pictures of everything because at one point I was just way too mind blown hahaha!! So yummy. Sushi snobs… you need to come here!!!

What a gigantic bummer $90 totally wasted. Ordered it delivered, got total wrong order. Would have accepted it but the fish was so scary that I wouldn't even give it to my pets. Drove over to ask for the right order, 2 handroll hamachi, 2 handroll crab, 2 ikura. I had o drive over to get the right order and when I did get it, the fish was just as bad as the wrong one that was delivered. Fish old. horrible soggy tamaki. 90 bucks totally wasted. Never again. I feel so sad about this. The staff is nice but the quality is absolutely in the toilet presently Aug 2025. Gosh garn. So bummed.

This was my first visit. The fish is fresh and the portions are generous. I appreciated having some of the fish that are not native to this country. I especially loved the Eggplant appetizer. The Eggplant was luscious and very tasty.

I'll be back.

This place was OK. Overpriced fish relative to small portion sizes, super slow service (like 1.5hrs) for a not fancy 4 course omakase.. and we came super hungry and left still hungry, even with ordering appetizers too!

Posting for awareness!! Amazing sushi spot - super traditional, high-quality sushi in a sleek space. Great service. On a Thursday night, there weren’t many people in here; I’d love to see it packed because it was a lovely meal. Can’t wait to go back!

My wife and I had the pleasure of dining at UO Nigiri this past Saturday night, and we’re already looking forward to our next visit. We booked a reservation for 8:30 PM through OpenTable, and upon arrival, we were warmly greeted and given the choice of where to sit. That was an immediate sign of the thoughtful service to come.

Not long after we were seated, we were approached by Yusuke, who we didn’t realize at the time is the CEO and founder of UO Nigiri. We mentioned that it was our first time at the restaurant and that we were open to recommendations. From that moment on, the experience felt like a guided culinary journey. Yusuke took the time to chat with us, recommend sake pairings, and offer samples to find the perfect match for our meal.

We chose the premium dinner menu along with a couple of appetizers, and every bite was exceptional. Standout dishes included the buttery black cod, the rich and flavorful Nodoguro nigiri, and the incredibly fresh Uni nigiri. Each was prepared with a level of care and precision you would expect from a Michelin star establishment.

UO Nigiri offers an experience that is both elevated and intimate. From the genuine hospitality to the perfectly curated menu, it is a spot I would wholeheartedly recommend to anyone craving a top-tier sushi experience in a cozy, welcoming setting.

Five stars all the way. We can’t wait to return

Incredible Omakase experience!
Hands down one of the best fresh sushi meals in LA. Every piece was insanely unique and full of flavor. The chef clearly loves what he does, and is bringing Japan decadence to Venice.

Awesome place if you’re looking for great quality nigiri! The location isn’t particularly romantic or fancy, but the food makes up for it. We made a reservation, but it seemed quiet enough on a weeknight that we probably would have been fine without it. The only drawback is that I wish there had been more options for wine/cocktails. The wine was great, but having something closer to $10/glass would be nice. A few simple cocktails that could be prepped at the start of the night and poured would definitely have had us drinking more than just one glass of wine. Overall great experience!

I had to wait over 10 minutes to be seated because no one was in the hall, even though the restaurant was already open. As for the food, in my opinion, the premium omakase felt like a rip-off. It didn’t include uni, and the ikura had a strong, unpleasant fishy taste. Considering it costs nearly $30 more than the lower-tier omakase, it wasn’t worth the price. The other sushi, including the rice, was bland compared to other omakase experiences I’ve had. That said, I did enjoy the black cod, and the service and atmosphere were good. However, overall, I wouldn’t recommend it based on the value.
