Vandell Reviews
Great vibes. Bartenders and staff are fantastic. Definitely would come back again - the cocktails were creative and balanced. We tried the hamachi (yum) and steak frites (okay, but not our favorite version). The chimichurri flavor was a little off from what expected from a standard chimichurri.
The drinks were great, so many nice options and nicely crafted. It is busy so I would book reservation in advance, but good option to hang at the bar and enjoy some nice cocktails.
My favorite bar in all of Los Angeles – the staff couldn’t possibly be more lovely and personable,.. The drinks are some of the best I’ve ever had if not THE best I’ve ever had. The food is phenomenal- flavorful, great portions, comes out so fast. Couldn’t possibly love this place more- I leave with the biggest smile on my face everytime.

Vandell is a new and stylish cocktail bar located in Los Feliz, just a short walk from Jeni's Ice Cream. The space features warm oak paneling, dark marble bar, leather stools, and vintage-inspired decor, creating a cozy yet polished atmosphere with a soft amber glow from candlelight and pendant lamps. The interior is thoughtfully designed with sound engineering that divides the venue into four distinct spaces, allowing for private conversations or lively gatherings, all without feeling pretentious.
The bar offers a well-curated cocktail menu organized by vibe rather than base spirit, including options like the Winter Melon Bourbon, Banana, and Olive Martini. Drinks are uniquely crafted, well-balanced, ice cold, and very yummy, with some like the Winter Melon Bourbon offering surprising and complex flavors. Prices are reasonable for LA, with cocktails typically costing around $15-16, which many feel is fair given the quality and creativity. The bar also provides a good selection of non-alcoholic drinks, such as Japanese Pickleback, demonstrating attention to all guests.
Vandell serves small bites that elevate the experience, including dishes like Hamachi Crudo with carrot leche de tigre, pistachios, and garlic chips, and Anchovy Toast with chili lime boquerones and arugula pesto, both of restaurant quality. Fries with Dijonnaise are also available. The food matches the high standards of the drinks, and the service is friendly and attentive, though it can get busy. Overall, Vandell offers a memorable, elevated neighborhood bar experience with great drinks, delicious food, and a warm, inviting vibe that makes it a favorite spot for intimate gatherings or small groups.
