We stumbled upon Variable Cafe during our recent vacation and were immediately drawn to their menu for its incredible variety. After sampling a wide range of dishes, it quickly became one of our favorite spots of the trip. Every bite was bursting with flavor, and it’s clear that a lot of thought, care, and heart go into each creation. Even their latte and coffee drinks impressed us — and as self-proclaimed coffee snobs, that’s saying something! You really can’t go wrong with anything on the menu, but the must-try standouts are the Drunk Cauliflower, Kurt Brussels, and Indian Tikka Masala. We’re already looking for an excuse to come back — this place is a gem.
Got takeout and the food was delicious.

best shrimp I've ever had. Joel was wonderful and very hospitable. One thing to mention, we had the gluten free red velvet cake for an event and it was way too dense imo.
Easy 5 stars

Nice tasty food in a chilled vibes environment.
The food is pretty tasty but nothing out of the ordinary. Most dishes would be found on the menu in other restaurants - they just bring them all together on one menu. As a consequence the restaurant doesn’t follow a certain type of cuisine but rather serves vegan dishes from around the world, from sweet Chinese style battered cauliflower to Indian curries, Vietnamese pho, Italian pasta and California style salads.
No alcohol served here.

excellent food, great service, super accommodating for allergies. cute and charming interior.
i would highly recommend the northern lights pasta and shrimp appetizer. the pho tasted a bit too sweet for me (bbq sauce?) but others did enjoy it, could just be a palette difference. but the pasta was PHENOMENAL!! i just wish there was a bit more seitan (u can see in the picture the portion is super small compared to the pasta/salad), but other than that, heavenly.

Finally decide to drop in and I’m glad I did. I got the st louis and drunkin cauliflower. Both of these dishes were delicious. I’m not Vegan but this is a must return spot now.

I've only had the greed goddess salad and it was so good. Fresh ingredients and decent portion. The avocado was bright and hadn't browned at all. The flavor of the dressing was spot on.

We just had dinner at a nearby vegan sushi place so was craving dessert. We found this place . It was nice. We had the turmeric latte which was yummy. Brownie which a little too goey for me . Pumpkin pie yummy. Carrot cake delicious. We were lucky to talk to owner who was super friendly and kind. Told us about her business..

I'm honestly not sure how this place has good reviews. I've eaten here twice, and both times have been disappointing.
1. Bahn Mi
The bread was old—like, really old—and tasted awful. The veggies seemed like they were past their prime, possibly expired a week ago. The vegan meat was decent, but I wouldn't recommend this dish.
2. TBS Soup
The soup wasn’t bad, and I liked the lentils, but it didn’t feel fresh. It tasted more like something that was microwaved rather than cooked from scratch.
3. Blue Latte
The blue latte was actually good, which is the only reason I gave two stars.
If you’re looking for vegan Vietnamese food, I’d recommend trying somewhere else.
Parking can be tricky. There’s street parking available for $1 per hour.

A non-vegan friend suggested that we try this place and we both loved it! I then took my sister there, and am planning to get all of my friends and family to try it! The menu includes a nice variety of tasty dishes but my runaway favorite is the “drunken cauliflower”… don’t miss it! The burgers are great, the salads are delicious, and I strongly recommend an order of fries for the table. End your meal with a nice dessert - I loved the gluten-free brownie that was gooey and delicious. The service is fantastic… they seem genuinely pleased that you’re there, and will help you navigate their menu if you’re new and need recommendations. The only drawback was the limited parking in their lot… but street parking is available if you don’t mind walking a block or two (worth it).
