It's a solid option. It will get very busy on theater/concert evenings. Excellent happy hour for the area and opens earlier than neighboring competitors. But the bar tender can get swamped so happy hour bar service can be a bit slow around 5 or 6.
This was at least our fifth time dining at Vespaio (a great place for a pre or post performance meal). One of our entrees was a bit slow coming out (we were slightly concerned due to curtain time approaching) and before we could say a word, Elizabeth was at our table making apologies, ensuring that the entrée would be right out, and offering options and solutions in her kind, professional, and efficient manner. The 2 outstanding dishes were the scallop salad with arugula and the wild boar pasta. The branzino was only so-so, but it was well cooked. The service was slower than we expected, but faster than it would have been in Italy. The waiter was helpful with suggestions and even though he was busy he gave excellent service.
