The food was ok, the workers were rude. I was standing at the counter and they were having a whole conversation and did not acknowledge me a customer. I had to say something, also the manner and the tone they used was rude. The heavy set one motioned for me to go to cashier, the cashier just looking at me like what do you want. I really should have left, because I should not spend my money in a place that doesn’t appreciate my business. I really regret not getting Jamaican food from the street vendors at the park. I asked for jerk chicken, I wasn’t asked what sides I wanted, I asked for extra jerk sauce was told that’s .82…. No one ask if I wanted gravy on my dry rice and beans. I would not recommend. I hope the owner see this, get you some better staff

1st time I stop by and last time I eat here. Staff not friendly @ all. I believe anywhere you go, if you're greeting well, you will come back.

This Jerk Chicken tasted exactly how it does in Jamaica and in Brooklyn. It was very good.

40+ minutes for food to be ready
Itβs real deal jerk chicken! Perfectly marinated, seasoned and grilled Smokey flavor; crisp skin, tender and juicy. Escovich fish was also authentic: a whole fish freshly fried with tangy and spicy vinegar, onion and scotch bonnet sauce. The oxtails were a miss for me; a bit on the sweet side.

Came in and left full and satisfied. Ordered the Jerk Chicken Baby and the Oxtails β both came with Jollof Rice and Cabbage, and that combo alone tells you they know what they're doing. The jerk had the right balance of heat and seasoning, and the oxtails were fall-off-the-bone tender. Jollof Rice was on point β not dry, not bland.
Finished it off with the Lemon Raspberry Rum Cake, a Cookie Butter, and a Beef Pattie. Now let me tell you about that rum cake β whoever dropped the bottle in the batter, don't stop. That thing hit different. Boldly rum-forward and I was NOT mad about it. Beef pattie was a solid closer too, flaky crust, well-seasoned filling.
KC doesn't always get credit for its Caribbean food scene, but Wah Gwan is a true gem on Troost. This won't be my last visit β not even close. Highly recommen

What a fantastic new restaurant for San Pedro! The portions are generous, the jerk chicken was perfectly seasoned, and the ox tails melted in our mouth. The owner was a ray of sunshine and clearly cooked with love. This will become my go-to restaurant, for sure. Five Stars!
