There are much better spots to go to around the area. Food was fine at best, but for the price, not worth it.

Genuinely confusing experience here. Spent nearly 4 hours dining here by no choice of my own. The night started off strong as we received attentive and thoughtful service from the waiter, the food started to come out, and the drinks were flowing. By the time we had only 1 dish left that hadn't come out, we were nearly 2 hours into the dinner. And then something strange happened. It was like our table no longer existed. We didn't have someone come by to fill our glasses of water or check on us for nearly 45 minutes. Then eventually the waiter came by to let us know it was last call for savory food. We told him we had an eggplant dish that hadn't come out yet. He apologized and comped it for us but after that, it was another 45 minutes before it came out, and then another 45 between us ordering/eating dessert, and paying. It felt like purgatory and as a customer who was paying a lot of money for such small servings, I felt completely disrespected. I'm not sure if the waiter had a brain fart or something but it was the worst service I've ever experienced. After he took our cards he was walking around doing other things before he ran them. We were some of the first ones in, and literally the last ones out of the restaurant. Me and 3 friends. We ordered a modest amount of food and drinks. But there is no reason that we should have spent 4 hours in that restaurant. It was hardly busy at all. It's also incredibly frustrating to have an open concept place like this where it's clearly on display that you're being ignored. I would have been happy to pay $28 for a plate of grilled mushrooms had the service been on point. Tbh kinda ruined the trajectory of our evening and felt like we were trapped in there for the last 2 hours.

I don’t often do reviews, but I’m compelled to write one since my experience was not it. They recommended the porcini and pear carpaccio, which is just thinly sliced mushrooms and a few small pieces of pear drowning in olive oil, all for $28. Then we got a summer salad, which they personally recommended. It was not even dressed and felt like a meal for sheep getting a special treat. That was $23. I will say if it wasn’t for the eggplant, I would give 1 star.

There are so many reasons to love Yess.

1. The vegetables!! OMG You might not be expecting it, but the vegetables here are so delicious and they hold their own against the fish. Expect seasonal vegetables and wonderful provisions that will blow your mind.

2. This is one of the very few places where you can get locally caught bluefin sushi here in Los Angeles. Maybe one of about 3 places right now as of this review? They don't have it all the time so call ahead.

3. The berry kakigori is otherworldly good.

4. How nice is it to go to a restaurant and not have to yell at the people at your tent just you have a conversation?

I just love this place so much.

My friend and I dined here last night and to preface, this is very much a “LA” type restaurant; from the interior design to the open-kitchen concept, it is a bit untraditional but I really enjoyed it. We each ordered the daily sashimi, a spicy tuna temaki, a yellowtail temaki, and a drink each of us and left full but not stuffed. Each dish was artfully crafted and delicious. The kitchen is open and on full display. If you sit at the bar, you’re able to watch the chef and staff operate. I thought this was really cool! I loved seeing the big tuna fish in the back fridge. The fish itself was buttery and very fresh. The staff were all very kind and warm. Being that this restaurant is in the arts district, expect a unique dining experience. I’d definitely go back !

Each dish was heavenly. The slow pace of dishes arriving to the table allows for taste to sink in and express itself in an amazing way.

It seems they now only serve sushi during lunch, but it was good. It's a bit different from what you usually get from a sushi place.

Progressive Japanese food that focuses on simplicity and freshness showcasing technique. They highlight their eel and we got the whole one to share. It can be a bit intimidating for people not familiar and a bit simple but the effort to prepare takes a lot. For the price, I wish it came with a side of rice or something to complement it. I really enjoyed the Tofu and Eggplant dish also. The Eggplant was super unique and cooked in a way I haven’t tried before and was very flavorful with a dark miso crust. The Corn and Sausage was unique too and presentation was pretty cool. I really enjoyed the Strawberry Shaved Ice for dessert. Great way to end!! Overall, the food is on the lighter side so if you’re looking for hearty or indulgent food this may not be the best pick. They serve smaller plates that are good to share between two people or a small group. Service was great though and super friendly.

Insanely slow. We ordered one appetizer and one main entree each. It took 1.5+hrs lol. Food is nothing special. Not worth the price. Cute atmosphere though..
