Always a good interaction when coming to Z Falafel. The cooks are such nice guys and always so helpful when I may ask about one of their many options on the menu. I always try to switch up my plate when I come here and not once have I had a disappointing meal from this location. Keep going hard!

I recently visited the location on Hill St. in Los Angeles and had an experience that I’d like to share, not as a complaint but rather as a way to help improve understanding and ensure an even better experience for myself and other customers in the future. Speaking spanish to order is a plus!
I placed a custom order for a falafel bowl with salmon as my choice of protein (Order #065). I confirmed this multiple times with the gentleman taking my order, who was incredibly kind, but there was a slight language barrier. Unfortunately, despite my efforts to ensure everything was clear, I received a salmon bowl instead of the falafel bowl I had requested. While the salmon bowl was absolutely delicious (your flavors are incredible!), it contained ingredients I would have asked to omit due to personal allergies and preferences.
When I noticed there was no falafel in my order, the cashier explained that I had ordered the salmon bowl. I reiterated that I had requested a falafel bowl with salmon as the protein, which is why I believed it was marked as a custom order. I ended up having to order falafel separately, which, while delicious, did leave both the cashier and myself feeling a bit frustrated due to the misunderstanding. We were basically over each other, but I still tipped and he still prepared the meal.
I want to stress that this isn’t about placing blame, as the staff was polite and did their best under the circumstances. However, I’d love some clarification: is it possible to order the falafel bowl with salmon as a protein, or are the options limited to meat and chicken? Knowing this in advance would help me avoid any confusion in the future and allow me to enjoy your food even more during my next visit to Los Angeles.
I’m sharing this feedback because I genuinely enjoyed the flavors and would love to continue supporting your restaurant, but would also appreciate a smoother ordering experience next time.

Reviews are so good because they have a big sign and QR code to leave a review and get a free drink lol.
Unfortunately, my food was super mid. All the flavors were off from the hummus, baba ghanoush, and tahini. The falafel was good and fresh but a majority of the flavor is from the sides which didn’t deliver. Additionally, everything felt annoyingly oily—even the rice. Their pitas are super small and mine was cold.
Knowing now that their reviews are often incentivized I would have ate elsewhere.
The I I service was excellent though! Very friendly guy working who was super quick. Even though I placed my order online (through their preferred platform) and arrived at pick up time but it hadn’t even been started.

I love Z Falafel! It’s better than the other Mediterranean options in DTLA and not overpriced. The seasoning is on point. The service is great. The vibe is awesome. Everyone who works here is also so nice. Highly recommend. I probably eat here four times per week.
