“Very funny and interesting to me is the majority of the menu is Korean and not Hawaiian. Even the owner and founder Joshua Liana said, “Ono Hawaiian BBQ has always been our passion project because the food and culture of Hawaii is something both Joe and I have always enjoyed. Similar to our familial background, Hawaii is a melting pot of ethnic cultures and nowhere is this influence more profound than in its cuisine.” The “Kalbi” is Korean and they bbq the chicken exactly like Korean chicken style. Food taste great but let’s be honest this is not Hawaiian style. True Korean bbq is Kalua style.very misleading and o the success of Korean style bbq. If you want to truly experience Korean cuisine I highly recommend “The Blue House” in Sacramento, Roseville, and Vacaville. Large portions and true authentic Korean food where you will eat true Kalbi bbq. Also, thanks Gavin Newsom for mandating the pay rate for fast food workers in California to $20 hourly I think you’re making this country weak. Spam Masubi with no sauce and everytime I request this, the cooks who cannot speak English get my order wrong!. So what about the people who went to school and college who speak English only to apply for positions only to find that I cannot qualify for the positions because I don’t speak Spanish? Meantime they sure can get mandatory pay requirements and continue to make mistakes and cannot communicate but hey why not.“
