Catered lunch for the office (for 30 people) from Crust Deli Los Gatos. Food arrived on time. Rave reviews from colleagues on the sandwich selections and everyone loved the sourdough rolls! After a morning of working at an event, I wanted a nice lunch. My mom suggested a sandwich deli nearby, so we drove to Crust in Los Gatos.

There were a lot of guys on their lunch break there in a relatively empty space with minimal decorations. I ordered a hot pastrami sandwich and was very clear in requesting light mayonnaise and mustard. The cashier didn’t seem to understand me. So just in case, I repeated my request again.

After a few minutes, we got our sandwiches. I took a bite and tasted a ton of mayo and mustard. I lifted the bread off one side of the sandwich and it was drenched and soaked in mustard on one side with mayo thickly coating the other side. As far as I could tell, The bread and pastrami probably would've tasted good but drowning it in mayo and mustard totally ruined the sandwich for me.

I'm not usually one to go out and get a sandwich unless it's something special, and this place was special.

The homemade sourdough rolls are excellent and crispy on the exterior with some chew with the fillings. The sandwich itself is adequately seasoned and not too dry. The serving is enough for a decent small meal or snack between 2 people. I was left stuffed.

The service attendant was very friendly and helpful in helping me decide. They also offer free banana peppers and pickles in jars to accompany your sandwich if you'd like. I'll definitely return here to try their meatier subs or even their hefty salads.

Years ago I worked in downtown San Jose across the street from Sourdough Eatery. It has been a legend for decades, serving up warm crusty sourdough filled with delicious sandwich fixings. I have traveled near and far over the last nearly 50 years and have rarely found anything that rivals. Freshly Baked, across from St James Park downtown came on the scene just in time to meet my warm, sourdough cravings while I worked at SJSU. Now I find you, CRUST. Just down the hill and a few blocks from where I lived for 40 years, but alas... I have moved out of the area and discovered you while visiting. I'm here to tell all of you locals, THIS PLACE IS A GEM!! I walked right in today, placed my order and within minutes had in my hands an absolutely delicious warm crusty sourdough sandwich filled with lean pastrami, cheese and the rest that make a perfect sandwich!

Sandwhiches are very tasty!

Food was great. But the manager was amazing. Very professionally welcoming. If I owned a restaurant I would definitely want her as the manager!
