Only problem, the staff is arrogant and won't silce salami fresh. They put pre sliced salami that was bad. Go to Los Altos location they are great and will slice fresh.

Great sandwiches. I got the roast beef and it was amazing Italian style! Had to go back the next day for another. Been there 3x in 2 weeks. When you walk in it smells so good and I love the salami hanging from the ceiling.

Ask always for an itemized receipt, they charge double without you realizing.

Good sandwich though.

I was working out in the area and spotted this spot immediately as a place that could hold up to subs in the Northeast. They did not disappoint! Went with the original Godfather and couldn’t be happier. The young woman who helped me was extremely nice and helpful (Sun afternoon), special thank you to her! Highly recommend this place if you’re looking for that authentic New York/Boston style of sub!

Nice sandwich but the portion was a bit too big, bread too hard and it wasn't very easy to know where to place order; staff didn't make it super clear! But nice!

This place is legit. American Italian Deli is the name and it indeed stands up to it. I popped in for a cold drink, and the place looked awesome. Young gal behind the counter was super nice and helpful, and their selection of sandwiches look really tasty. I was able to order a bottle of squirt soda, and take a look around. I don’t think I would’ve left any type of review, but the gal who helped me was very nice and considerate. The place also smelled really good so I look forward to being back for a sandwich. With the hanging cured meats, you know this place is legit.

Tasty sandwiches, nice staff. We order online as it can get busy during lunch. Its not fancy- There is a little seating inside, and there are a few tables outside.

Had roast turkey with avocado on sourdough. Seemed like a Thanksgiving feast ! Also ordered the Godfather - as good Italian sandwhich as from NYC or South Philly- excellent!

I’m quite shocked this place has four stars.

Was craving a sandwich and all my go-to places were closed, so I found myself on Yelp, which generally doesn’t disappoint. I guess there is a first for everything.

Anything and everything about this place was bad. First off, we never DoorDash, but we did this ONE TIME and of course, the deli messes up our sandwiches big time, so the hubby had to go back and pick up new sandwiches. Kinda defeats the purpose of the delivery service. We were told if we wanted our delivery charges back, we’d have to take it up with DoorDash, even though it was not DoorDash’s mistake to begin with.

And this is where it really goes downhill (refer to photos I posted). We ordered three sandwiches. Sure we had some special requests but it was not all that complicated (again, refer to the receipt I posted).

The hubby ordered a Godfather II – it came just as he asked for, but like some other reviews mentioned, you’d think for the price, you’d get more meat. Overall, the taste was good, but we’ve had much better and heftier sandwiches elsewhere. The hubby also said the sourdough roll was tough.

The BFF ordered a Godfather II as well, without any special requests. It came MEATLESS. Yes, you heard right. THERE WAS NO MEAT (see photos).

I ordered the Iron Man (my special request was no oil, vinegar ok; NO MAYO). I got a sandwich with JUST MEAT WITH MAYO, none of the toppings. Even if they made my sandwich right, I think 3-4 THIN slices of meat is just not sufficient. I probably would’ve been better off with Subway or Togos.

After getting the RIGHT sandwiches, I still think that their sandwiches are lacking; it was decent at best. Sure, if I paid $7 – $8 for one, that’s fine. But $13 PRETAX? You gotta load it up with some more meat.

We will not be returning. I can make a better sandwich at home for a quarter of the price.

How can you call this a deli with one slice of Roast Beef, horrible..they need to see what a real east coast deli serves

Finally, I tried these sandwiches after living in LG for over five years. I had always wanted to, and now I have. Honestly, I was expecting more. My boyfriend got them to go and brought them home. I'm not sure if it was because he chose the wrong type of bread, but these sandwiches seemed too dry and had too much bread. They definitely needed more sauce. Maybe the bread wasn't right for these Italian sandwiches. I didn't enjoy them as much as I had hoped. Also, I expected to see tomatoes in Italian sandwiches, but there were none. I'm glad I tried them, but they didn't meet my expectations.

I used to frequent this sandwich shop for a quick lunch to grab and go. I would always call in my order about 15-30 mins before walking over to pick up my sandwich. The sandwiches and salads there are pretty good. The employees are mostly younger people who, for the most part, are quick and friendly. But the reason I stopped going there was because of an older brunette woman who works there. Not sure if she's the manager or an owner or an employee, but she ruined the place for me.From taking my phone order to when I picked up my sandwich, which wasn't ready even after 30 mins from when I ordered, she was straight up rude to me. Not just unpleasant or grumpy or busy, she treated me like I wasn't worth her time. And that left a bad taste in my mouth. Never going back.
