We hit his on our drive from Redding to Bakersfield- looking for some legit Mexican food. Boy- we found it! We struck Rico food!!! We walked in- it was like being in Jalisco Mexico. We were the only gringos- and immediately knew we were in for a fantastic lunch!! I got chile Colorado torta- my fam got burritos- I swear they weighed some serious pounds like literally 3lbs?? — full of meat and all the flavor! If you are remotely close … you must give it a go.
Stopped in for a torta de asada and two chicken tacos. The staff was super friendly right when we walked in.
The asada torta was delicious. I usually prefer telera bread, but their bolillo was solid, and the melted cheese on the top bun created this amazing crispy crust that set it apart from other places. Loved it!

I was referred to la carniceria by my barber across the street. He said you gotta try this place if you want good food. Well today Henry and I gave it a try. Simply put. Awesome. Everything you want and more. You don't want to cook for a party. Come here. The food is as good as it gets.
