Capybara Empanadas Reviews
Got the terere( Yerba mate mint ginger drink) beef truffle and American empanadas. Favorite was the beef. So delicious. 😋 Overheard her telling the person behind me that the Chipas were the best thing on the menu so now I’m back in line after devouring those empanadas to order some of those too 😂! Love the Argentinian chimichurri dipping sauce that the empanadas came with!
Super good food. Probably the best food in town. 👍👍
Mammoth local, but my first time trying their empanadas. Very tasty (got 3 different ones for $15) especially with the sauce. Appreciate that the food trays and even the small sauce containers are made of paper/cardboard! They have regular hours 11-5 and are also open for Mammoth Creek Park/Community Rec Center special events.

Capybara Empanadas is a restaurant in Mammoth Lakes. The owner is originally from Argentina. The menu includes beef, chicken, corn, and vegetarian empanadas, along with American empanadas, beef truffle empanadas, Chipas, terere (Yerba mate mint ginger drink), Nutella latte, and Argentinian chimichurri dipping sauce. The beef empanada is a favorite, with juicy, flavorful filling. The Chipas are described as the best thing on the menu. The chicken empanada has shredded chicken and is a bit lighter. The corn empanada is not for everyone. The empanadas come with sauce, and the food trays and small sauce containers are made of paper and cardboard. Three different empanadas cost $15. Food takes about 20 minutes to be ready, and there are picnic benches next to the truck. Regular hours are 11-5, and the truck is also open for Mammoth Creek Park and Community Rec Center special events. The spot is near Tesla superchargers.
