Elixir Superfood & Juice

Ate here for lunch and got food poisoning from the poke bowl. The food tasted rancid and I stopped eating after a few bites. I regret not sending it back at the time, as I was just trying to be nice and not make a fuss. I started feeling ill not long after. Two hours later I vomited up the whole meal.

I’m literally sitting inside this restaurant while I’m writing this. I read an earlier review that complained about the customer service, so I just want to give a shout out to the guy (maybe the manager?) who is currently working. They are out of a lot of ingredients (not their fault) and he is going above and beyond suggesting swaps and changes to keep everyone happy and fed. I had the spring roll bowl and one of their cold pressed juices and it’s all delicious - exactly what I needed after running 18 miles 🙂

Great place to get a healthy meal for a decent price in mammoth

Great healthy spot to grab a snack, lunch or dinner in Mammoth. My husband and I stopped by after hiking all morning to refuel with good/clean ingredients. We each had a smoothie and bowl and everything was great! I highly recommend their seasonal Backyard BBQ Chicken Bowl. The chicken was tender and warm with the perfect amount of BBQ sauce. I also really enjoyed my Maca Mint Chip smoothie. I will definitely be coming back before we head home.

The staff was friendly and the food came out within 10-12 minutes.

We came in to grab a smoothie after our hike. The have kids options. The cashier recommended a pink one for my daughter and I ordered the Frappy Whippy Dippy. We were both really happy with the drinks! They were very refreshing after our hike.

We stopped in hoping to get a healthy meal after several days of travel, and while the concept of this place is fantastic—focused on clean eating, fresh juices, and nourishing food—the customer experience left a lot to be desired.

When we walked in, none of the staff made eye contact or offered assistance. It felt like they were intentionally avoiding interaction, almost pushing you to order from one of the 3 iPad kiosk. I nearly walked out when I couldn’t figure out how to modify our order and no one stepped in to help. We didn't order any baked goods but wanted too.

We ended up eating outside in the parking lot area. There is indoor seating as well—nothing fancy, but clean and functional. The food itself was fresh, and exactly what our bodies needed after being on the road.

That said, customer service matters. We’re typically generous tippers (often 25%), but this time we didn’t feel compelled to leave one. A little eye contact and simple acknowledgment could go a long way in making the experience more welcoming.

Great food, great concept—but the human touch is definitely missing. Sad

So thankful for a GF option but dang! Very very bland food, messed up order, and possibly bad fish. We ordered a steak bowl and an ahi tuna bowl and ended up with very upset stomachs. Some of the fish tasted very off so I didn’t finish the bowl. The workers didn’t seem to know what they were doing either. Very unfortunate and I hope they can make some improvements!
Update: we definitely got food poisoning.

It was almost closing time but the employees were still very friendly and working fast.

We were looking for a healthier dinner option during our summer visit to Mammoth Lakes and we were happy to discover Elixir Superfoods, tucked in a small retail center near Schat's Bakery in Mammoth Lakes.

Good selection of creative salad options, reasonably priced, our server was friendly, and the outdoor dining patio is very dog friendly. We had a good June 2025 experience and would come again.

I hate to give this review about the service because I love Elixer's food and I personally have had good experiences with the employees in the past. However, I think it is absurd that customers are encouraged to order solely from the kiosks instead of from people. Not only is this unaccommodating to older (or generally less tech savvy) people, but this also takes away from the employees generating tips. A place that offers food should encourage its employees to interact with customers as much as possible. Who is going to put a tip on a bill generated by a machine? Additionally, even if you are apt to tip a machine, this method encourages employees to be less social, less friendly, and give fewer farts about the quality of the product they are producing.

(In response to the reply by management for this review, I will revise my previous thoughts in its regard: I completely sympathize with the challenges of our town. But given others' reviews citing numerous poor experiences with customer service, I still stand by guests' experiences being dampened by the way Elixir is currently running things. I was given the vibe in Elixir that it was preferred by the staff that I ordered at the kiosk because I went to the register and the fellow there seemed too busy to stop and take my order.)

That all being said, the employees who I interacted (however briefly) with today were all smiles and politeness. But I can see how other customers might have had poor experiences with other employees.
