Came to eat tonight with my family. We are locals here in this town in the service industry for 20 years. We are always asked where to go for good food and service. I will not be recommending this place anymore. We ordered two margaritas while we waited for a table and they turned out to be very bad prebatched $16 margaritas. Hands down the rudest host staff I have ever experienced. I'll start by saying this: we came in on New Years Eve with no reservation as such we expected a sizable wait. We were told 90 minutes. About 40 minutes into our wait my father wanted to check the status on the list at which time we were told it would be another hour and twenty minutes. Gomez Mexican Restaurant has been visited multiple times over the last few years. Service has always been great, and the food and drinks are delicious. The chips and salsa are really good, with tasty enchiladas and birria that have flavor. The green sauce on the enchiladas is really good. The Chili Relleno with Shrimp has perfectly melted cheese, and the Cadillac Escalade Margarita is just the right balance. Some of the most tender steak is available, with the asada plate, cheese quesadilla, and azteca soup all earning five stars. The bar is gorgeous with lots of seating inside and out. It can definitely get busy at times, especially with larger parties. The vegan option includes can fajitas with portobello mushrooms. Everything in mammoth is expensive, but this place is delicious and highly recommended.
