Scallops and flat iron steak were superb. Service attentive but not intrusive. All in all a delightful dinner...as usual. Slay never disappoints
Wait staff most excellent very personable. I took my date for dinner for her birthday and we were taken very good care of. Food was great! Well organized place and ran smoothly. Great experience in dining. Will be going back!
Our experience is always one of complete satisfaction. Great service, food and ambiance. Our happy place.
The fish special was perfectly prepared. The fish was really good quality, with a well season sear and moist inside.
I wanted to love Slay Steak and Fish because I love Slay Italian Kitchen, and it's walking distance from home. However, the noise level and acoustics were a huge detractor. The food was good, but not particularly inspired, and a little bit salty. We did have a great server who took time to let us taste wine, which we ordered by the glass. Nonetheless, at $250 for dinner for two (without ordering a bottle of wine), it didn't quite make my "can't wait to return" list. There are so many more wonderful places in Manhattan Beach. This Slay missed the mark and I'm unlikely to return.
Booked for a special birthday dinner but everything was mediocre - very disappointed - won't be going back
Need to have a better bar tender, drink is mediocre, Very mediocre chocolate matini. No chocolate liqueur or very diluted. Do not know what is a brandy Alexander; you don't need a blender. Just brandy, crème de cocoa and cream in the shaker until frosting. Wine per glass seems less than the usual typical volume.
I celebrated my birthday here. Everything was perfect. All of the staff were friendly and treated us so well. Our server Barbie had great recommendations. All of the food was excellent, especially the filet of sole tender perfectly cooked. I highly recommend this restaurant.
Fantastic experience dining @ Slay Steak & Fish House to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Everything was wonderful. Can't say enough about the food and service. BTW... The Slay II Pinot Noir is exquisite.
Parking was a hassle but enjoyed the food. Service was okay compared to the pricing of the food.

Have been to slay several times, am always typically blown away by food and service and vibe that I don't mind the price. Sunday night was a miss. Parker rolls felt like they were previously frozen and got too dry. That was the biggest bummer of the night as those are usually dreamy. Sea bass was overcooked. Filet was cooked well, but was unknowingly drenched in a peppercorn sauce that would have been nicer on the side. And the Pinot was hot, it was very warm inside so we sat outside. The condensation from the ac was dripping in the bathroom with no warning. Just a puddle on the floor. Still giving it 4 stars because I'm hoping it was an off night
Everything about this dinner was on point. Food, drinks, service, the staff all were wonderful. I could not have asked for a better evening out.
Very good experience, very attentive wait staff, appetizers were excellent, especially the stuffed zucchini flowers, and the heirloom tomatoes. The filet was more than just tender, really superb cut of meat
We love it and love the dedicated amazing staff! David and his wife are such an amazing couple!!
The Maitre’d gave us a nice table, Jose’s service was impeccable and the food and wine, awesome. We enjoyed the evening. Thank you.
