Moto Azabu Sushi Bar & Grill

This place is hands down the greatest hidden gem in the marina area. I have been all of the country and the west coast and I can say without a doubt in my mind this place is the best sushi joint ive ever been to. An authentic atmosphere, friendly staff, and the best tasting food youll ever have. I get lucky to come to LA twice a year but I will travel for an hour by car just to eat here. Id add more photos but I ate the food before I remembered too

My wife and I have been here twice on our honeymoon in the area. I've made it a point to go out of my culinary comfort zone on this trip, and indeed I have as I've never been a big seafood guy, but at this point I must've tried half the nigiri this place has to offer.

It was a real joy to try so many new things at Moto Azabu and open my world up a little bit. Everything was so tasty and fun. I gotta say my favorites were probably the tako nigiri and the tobiko gunkan. Plus, the service has been awesome and we even got some freebies during both visits.

If you want an authentic Japanese experience in Venice / MDR look no further!

Right before we went to the airport to fly home we decided to go to Azabu Sushi Bar. We kept seeing the signage from the upper floor of our hotel because it was across the street. This turned out to be an excellent choice. The sushi was top notch. Very delicious and the service was impeccable. I would highly recommend this restaurant even if you are not staying in the Marina Del Rey area. It will be worth the trip. I know my sushi and I kmow my traveling so when I say this place was A+, I mean it.

Food was tasty and the younger waiter was kind and prompt. But I was dining solo at the bar, in a seat they chose for me, and mid meal the older gentleman “asked” me to move over so they could seat 3 ppl. Placemats were being set up and ppl seated before I could even respond so what was I gonna say at this pt… I found it rude he couldn’t just have them wait 5 minutes for me to finish up, or even just ask kindly. Won’t be returning.

The restaurant is located on the second floor of a typical LA plaza and offers high-quality sushi for reasonable prices. The service wasn’t as good as the food, and they forgot to ask and serve basic items like water, but the food itself compensated very well. The sushi man was very fast and attentive, so I highly recommend choosing a spot in the sushi bar. The highlight for me was the toro sushi - one of the best I ever had. Overall the experience was worth it and I would recommend it if you’re in LA.
