Fantastic meal. Exceeded expectations. Suggest the duck breast, black cod, and fennel salad

This was the dining experience we were hoping for. Having a miss the previous evening we pivoted from our plans and came here for the final dinner in our Mendocino stay.

The staff was fantastic. Kind, friendly, when they were out of a half bottle of the GSM blend we were looking for they had a perfect alternate recommendation. Knowledgeable, friendly, personable, just 10 out of 10.

The food, we started off with a risotto which is a favorite of my wife and I'm not terribly big on. This dish convinced me I've been eating sub-par risottos, it was wonderfully rich and decadent.

My wife got the gnocchi when she raved on and I got the steak au poivre. Cooked to perfection, smashed potatoes were fantastic. My only nit-pick and made me wonder if I ordered the right dish was the 'poivre'. I expected a decent amount of pepper and it wasn't there. However, I quickly got over that as the taste was divine and the wine perfectly accompanied it.

For dessert I chose an affogato which is made with an in house vanilla ice cream. It was incredible and the perfect end to the meal. We had planned on going to the connected coffee shop to get my wife a latte but they were kind enough to head over, prepare it, and bring it to our table.

Everything that went wrong at our precious dinner at Luna went right here. We will be back. Thank you so much for a wonderful evening.

Our hostess was great! Our waitress was great! I had the pork loins! Superb! My wife had the bolognese dish! She loved it. Everything was well prepared. We sat in the atrium, which for us, was better than the table clothed dining area.

The food presentation, service, and atmosphere were 5 star. But the food itself wasn't that great. My steak lacked a propper crust, like it was prepared via sous vide but then very under seared. The scallop sauce had a slightly off flavor, like refrigerator taint. The muscles were fantastic. The drinks were solid should you want a peaceful adult place to have a few cocktails. We had the mussels, steak, scallops, some cucumber aperitifs, a mojito and a beer.

Absolutely delicious dinner! We loved sitting in the atrium versus the dining room- lower lights and enjoy the ambiance overlooking the garden.

We ordered the Foie Gras, mussels , beet salad, and the duck… it was all super tasty. The mussels were probably our favorite. I had never tried the Foie Gras, presentation was fantastic. The duck was cooked, medium, rare, and the potatoes that came with it were served in a way I’ve never had.

Reservation highly recommended, it gets busy. The duck and bolognese were good, but the show stopper was the butter that went with the bread

Loved the seared duck and chorizo octopus. We also got the salmon risotto
- the salmon was nice but the risotto was underwhelming. Suggest the server to mention price for special dishes of the day.

Outstanding dinner at Cafe Beaujolais! I had the local black cod, which came with mushrooms, beets and bok choy. I was so impressed with the flavor and creativity of the dish. Truly a dish I will be thinking about for a long time. Our table ordered the mussels appetizer (special of the day) which had andouille sausage, and the broth was so good, we found ourselves scooping up every last drop. Others in my group ordered salmon, filet mignon, ling cod and corn ravioli and everyone also loved their meal.
The service was excellent - warm, attentive and inviting. The place is charming and reminded us of a European restaurant. My family was in Mendocino for 4 days, and we all agreed that one of the favorite parts of the trip was eating at Cafe Beaujolais!

Top quality coffee in symbiosis with a brick oven pizzeria and a garden style backyard.
