Luna's has, hands down, the best Italian food I've ever eaten. They're a bit pricey, so we don't eat here more than a couple times a year, but the price is well worth the high quality food, good size portions, excellent service, and wonderful atmosphere. If you can, sit in the patio. Especially after dark, the twinkle lights, candle light, heat lamps, and live music provide an ambiance that's second to none. The spaghetti carbonara is AMAZING, and authentic! No ingredients that aren't supposed to be in there! The minestrone soup is one of the best; just veggies and the most flavorful broth ever. The Farfalle California is also fantastic, and the house made foccacia they serve while you're waiting is so good.

Ended up here on both nights we spent in Mendocino (came back the second night because it was so great the first night) excellent all around for food, service , atmosphere.Special shout out to both musicians who played in the garden each night - they were fantastic. Impressive use of loop and sample pedals from the violinist/singer on the first night. Was definitely not expecting that level of musicianship during a cover song restaurant gig.
The most romantic evening we have ever had. The music in the garden brought tears to our eyes and the cover the musician did was so perfect in the moment, with the wine and enchantment, it’s now our song. Thank you for the wonderful food, and evening.

Very good food, nice outside seating in a garden. There was a lady entertainer singing, playing a violin and guitar. The music was a bit too loud for a restaurant. The bruschetta here is the best I've had in my life. My wife and I come to the North Coast for getaways once or twice a year, and we make reservations here every time. I had the carbonara most recently, it was great. Chocolate cheesecake for dessert. The music selection in the first floor dining area can be fairly eclectic - I actually love it, but if that idea is a turn off for you, ask to be seated on the outside patio or the second floor!

An incredible Italian nestled in the heart of Mendo. We sat outside, on a relatively cold night. Heaters were absolutely perfect, keeping us all warm, live music was a great touch and the service was excellent. We had the Sangiovese, Ragu and Carbonara, all of which were delicious.
Amazing food, gorgeous ambience in the garden and excellent service! Especially loved their pesto sauce! The complementary fresh focaccia with cheese and tomato sauce was a delight!!

Came to Mendocino (and thus the restaurant) for my ten year anniversary. Never been here in all our times visiting, so the wife made a reservation a day in advance, as suggested. We were seated promptly, and the at and ambiance are wonderful. Our waiter was super cool, engaging and sharing stories from Italy. Saint Francis is there as well!The food is exquisite. Caprese, bursts and lasagna were everything I remember from Rome. But in the beautiful confines of Mendocino. Wine list is available, as is root beer!Definitely a place to go for a special occasion. Delightful.Parking: Can be tricky when that area gets busy. Best to walk if possible.

Took my beautiful wife for her birthday to this lovely restaurant and it was definitely a treat. We tried the Tortelli al Funghi Porcini since we usually like trying the most popular dishes from restaurants. It was perfectly balanced with the ravioli, mushroom, and sauce. We also tried the Spaghetti Carbonara which was definitely both of our favorite. It was suggested by our server Alessio as he said it was the "Best in the West" and he was not wrong. The dish was light, the pancetta wasn't overpowering at all, but it still packed an extremely powerful punch full of italian flavor in every bite. Of course, I literally had to lick the plate clean (con permiso!) Added the Cannoli for dessert which was immaculate and a must! We didn't have an opportunity to sit outside or have live musicians which we are sure would've been the cherry on top. Our server was fun and the helper was very attentive. Thanks for the great service Alessio!
