We had a 6:00pm reservation. I arrived around 5:55 and my friend arrived shortly after at 6:05. By 7:30pm — while we were still eating and considering ordering dessert — the staff began repeatedly attempting to clear our table. At one point, a server even reached for my friend’s chopsticks while she was still actively eating.

At 8:00pm, we were informed that another reservation was waiting. However, at no time during booking or when we were seated were we told there was a dining time limit.

We fully understand that restaurants need to manage reservations and turn tables, but the way this was handled felt rushed and uncomfortable. Clear communication about a time limit upfront would have set expectations and avoided the awkwardness.

As for the food, it was decent but overall average for the price point (around $98 per person before tip). Unfortunately, the repeated pressure to leave significantly affected the overall experience.

We went and had the Valentine's special with the wagyu special, and it was delicious. I see some think the price might be too high, but the pieces I had were each extremely good. Cost of goods is a valud parameter.

Best restaurant experience in a very long time. Every dish was a hit. Excellent customer service. Great atmosphere. Prices were beyond reasonable considering the quality of the food!

Food here is delicious and the sushi is a definite standout but you can't go wrong with anything on the menu.

Food was great, service can be improved. Ordered a Oyakodon it takes 50 mins to arrive, no apologies no explanations.

Not a great experience. Asked to get a drink at the bar, place was empty, we were told the bar was full. I guess they don’t like making $. Don’t come here.

Really great skewers! Their sashimi tastes very fresh as well. It has a small izakaya vibe, nice presentation of food.

We went at lunch time on a Saturday and there was not a line waiting. Not a good sign, I thought. Turned out this place caters to a specific group of customers, people who wouldn’t blink for spending $100 per person for a mediocre westernized Japanese meal. There are a lot of such customers these days in the Bay Area. So I think the restaurant has no issue thriving here. But it is not for the rest of us.

This place is a hidden gem! Almost every dish’s we ordered was absolutely delicious. My favorite was the beef tongue — it’s not even on the menu, but if you get the chance to try it, don’t miss out. It was tender with just the right amount of chewiness, and it paired perfectly with rice.
The staff here are excellent — very attentive and genuinely make sure you're well taken care of. Their service really adds to the overall dining experience.
The only downside is the parking. The lot is pretty small, so it can be a bit of a hassle during busy times. But honestly, the food and service more than make up for it. Highly recommend!
