The food was not very good. The spicy tuna roll was not even edible and we didn’t eat it. The chicken and rice was ok. We ordered dine-in and they packed it up to go so not really a sit down restaurant.

My fiance and I visited Merced from out of town for a business trip and Tokyo Don was one of the only places open on Easter night. We were extremely disappointed with our entire dining experience. The vegetable chow mein was completely flavorless and had chunks of uncooked onion and celery for filler. My fiance's pork fried rice was an unappetizing black/brown color and had old chunks of pork fat in it. There was no quality meat in the dish at all. The worst part was the crab rangoons which didn't even have any crab in them! The food was not worth the money we paid for it. I do not recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for quality Chinese food and I hope for the sake of the Merced locals that there is better Chinese food out there!

I've been twice so far, Lily is awesome. Once for lunch and once to feed the kids a late lunch. We went to Panda and the line was wayyyyy to long so I though what am I doing? why not support local? Lily delivered!! On these rainy days, the egg drop soup it's delicious! The restaurant is locked but she is in there. She'll come out take your order and even bring it to your car. Thanks Tokyo Don

If you like Mushu then this is the place! I love the Mushu Pork, I order a few extra pancakes because they are so generous with the Mushu. Another favorite for us is the chow mein. The location is a little hidden behind KFC, next door to Domino's and Bagel Time. Its still take out only since covid. Seriously, get the Mushu!

We just moved to Merced, Checked Yelp, 3 stars, ordered on door dash, family dinner for 2 =$45. The worst chow mein Ive ever had. It was greasy and flavorless. The sweet and sour pork was fried in old oil, the egg roll was soggy. The won ton soup was good but had maybe 4 won tons in the whole order. The only thing worth having again was the beef and broccoli but after having such a poor experience with the rest we should have just ordered Panda Express. It's not authentic but at least it tastes good and you know the food is fresh.

Got the beef fried rice came with "8" pieces of beef that was actually smaller than bite size an tasted fake af an definitely didn't like the rice it was literally white rice just over cooked in a steamer, highly do not recommend waste of money

2/15/2022, I DoorDash ordered the Meal for 2 and a Shrimp Noodle Soup. Delivery Driver Eduardo was fast to deliver after he was given the food as he remained in contact via DoorDash App. However, none of the food bags delivered were sealed. For all I know, someone on the way with COVID 19 in the air could have peered at my order. In 61 years of my life, this place is the worst food I've ordered. I deeply regret spending $52 at this straight up DiVE !! All items I ordered were stale and obviously more than a day old. Even the stale fortune cookies had that 'Summer of 2021' taste. How could DoorDash support this for patrons? I will never ever order anything here again. Any Apology Not Accepted. 2/16/2022 Update: DoorDash credited my account $46 when they saw snapshot of my food order.

The service was fine, but the food wasn't good. I ordered combo #3 and potstickers. Combo plate #3 basically comes with fried rice, sour and sweet chicken (something of this sort, I don't exactly remember the name), and a egg roll. The egg roll and pot stickers didn't taste good at all. The chicken was cold meaning they didn't reheat enough I guess. The only thing decent was the fried rice, unfortunately.

These guys work hard and go the extra mile to make it look nice too! They are very understanding to their new clients who get confused with menu options (me). I look forward to another visit.

tokyo don is my absolute favorite place to eat ever since high school. the service is absolutely incredible and there’s nothing better than supporting a local business. 100/10 recommend the veggie chow mein and orange chicken

Everything was very flavorful and the portions are good but the only Issue I had was I ordered Mongolian beef and the amount of onions I received was so enormous and completely out weighed the beef I at best received 3 ounces of beef and about 2 lbs of onions other then that the rice and soups are good.

You’re better off eating a $.25 cent cup of Ramen Noodles from food 4 less. I’m not exaggerating. The noodles I ordered was nothing but water and some really thin looking noodles. Amazing bad, no flavor at all. If I could give it a negative ten then I would. Save your $$

This place has been good in the past. They still have my favorite fried rice. Their battered chicken dishes are a huge disappointment. My whole family used to love their garlic chicken and as much as we keep trying it, it's gone down hill. The garlic flavor isn't like it used to be and the worst part is the chicken is all dried out and tough. I haven't been lucky the past 2 or 3 times to have gotten soft fresher chicken. It's tough and chewy and my kids don't like it anymore. We will not be ordering from Tokyo don anymore and feel our money was wasted in the end. I really hope they bring their food quality back up to better standards than this. Very disappointed
