Truly Outstanding Malaysian Food & Service!

I recently visited Banana Leaf in Milpitas for a business lunch with a client and a couple of colleagues, and I can absolutely see why this place is so popular! The service was outstanding, which made our dining experience seamless
.
The food was equally exceptional. Every dish we had was delicious, confirming Banana Leaf is a must-try in the area. But the absolute highlight, and what truly blew us away, was the Deep Fried Ice Cream. Seriously, it was out of this world!
If you haven’t tried Banana Leaf yet, you are truly missing out. I highly recommend making a reservation, as this place fills up quickly. It’s worth every minute!

Absolutely delicious! I ordered the Basil Fried Rice, Mango Chicken, Chicken Spring Rolls, and Roti every dish was bursting with flavor and beautifully prepared. The basil fried rice had the perfect balance of spice and aroma, the mango chicken was tender with a delightful sweet-savory sauce, and the spring rolls were crispy and fresh. The roti was soft and flaky, perfect for soaking up the sauces. The service was quick and friendly, and the ambiance made it an overall great dining experience

Coming here for a long time. In short, place is noisy, sometimes tough to get seat but one single thing that stands out and its unparalleled - Food variety and quality. Hope to write more using my vivid memories about this place.

Satay and roti were alright, but the rest of the main dishes were subpar and over priced.

Horrible service, arrived there at 7.45, there was a 20-25 mins wait. We were seated at 8.15. A Chinese male waiter arrived to take order, it appeared he was in a hurry to go home. The order came in after 20 mins, we wanted an extra item and he says kitchen is closed. Did not even ask once or give us a chance to check if we need something before kitchen closed. On top of that they applied a 18% service charge for such poor quality. There are better places in Bay Area both for similar cuisine and service and definitely not coming back.

I came back here after a while, and the food is still just as delicious as I remembered. It does get busy quickly during lunch, but since I arrived around 11:40, I was seated right away with no wait. I love that you can try a variety of dishes, and everything tastes great. The prices are very reasonable too. Some items felt a little on the salty side, but overall, the flavors were really enjoyable. Definitely a place worth coming back to.😋

I have been here SEVERAL times. However what's motivating this review is a dish I recently had their - vegetarian - Sizzling Penang curry vegetables! My order was a big hit at the table and everyone wanted to try it out. I like pretty much everything on their menu but the sizzling Penang curry vegetables pushed me to post about this place. The other one is a dessert - pandan leaf panacotta! If you are in a mood for a dessert with a less sweet profile and taste like you may not have had before, try this one!

The food is good but we had an awful customer service experience especially with Jack, the usher at the restaurant. We had to wait 20 mins after our reservation time and after urging home to seat us sooner, he started yelling at us. Later, the restaurants had tables that were kept too tightly close together and so when needing to seat other guests, he made us move our chairs back and forth rather than take the guests around the table. When asked to not to that, he started passing side comments and fighting with us in the middle of the restaurant. He not once apologized or accepted fault. Avoid if you want a peaceful and respectful dinner.
