BEWARE: I ordered on line while I was driving to pick it up. My total was $70. When I click "order", my total was $92. They charged me mandatory 20% tip. Didn't even give me a choice if you want to tip. Madayâ! Food, not so good.

It's a shame that the Max's here does not do justice to the name it represents. Some employees do care as much as they should. This restaurant used to represent quality, good service and good food. It's like Russian roulette coming to eat here. You're better off ordering to go. Their fried chicken is still one of the best though.

Service is too slow. Food quality, ok. Even the high anticipated chicken, it's ok. Do I recommend the restaurant. It's up to you people!

I came to just get some pinakbet and rice - total came out to about $23. Little did I know that they charge $5 for a side or rice! And excuse me, but why does it take 15 min to dish out my pinakbet, you can't tell me it wasn't already cooked and heated? Prob won't come back to this location. Giving 2 stars since pinakbet had good taste and veggies were cooked well. But the dish oddly had a pink flecks of something - maybe it was shrimp bagaoong or char siu? And I've never had pinakbet with spinach before. Interesting take on a classic dish.

Place is dirty. The crew/ employees are very unpleasant, very unhappy. They shouldn’t be working here if they don’t know customer service. The food reflects how unhappy are the people that made it. Sad that their management doesn’t care. Max’s Milpitas is disgusting zero star here. And sad another filipino resto will be closing soon!

We ate there March 23, 2024. Veey Poor service. Dessert was served prior to the main course (crispy pata). We ordered 2 crispy pata, 1 chicharon bulaklak, 2 whole chicken, 1 kare kare, 3 large rice, 1 bulalo and 2 sticky rice and drinks. It wouldn't fit the 10 person table provided us. We asked the server to take back the dessert first so the main course would fit the table but insisted to fit it in the overly crowded table as she says there's no place to put it back in the kitchen. Talked to the manager about it and he said we shouldn't have ordered the dessert together with the main course (like duh, we are to be blamed for it?). Upon paying the bill, the server asked if we could pay in cash. WTF , who brings cash nowadays? And we weren't told early on that they needed cash payment. We asked why it was so and the server said they were short in cash (so what has that gotta do with us?). THESE CREW LAST NIGHT DESTROYED MAX'S TRADITION of good food and dining experience!!!! Less than 1 star rating!

They improve the food taste like Max in the Philippines, but I'm not impressed with the kare kare. But all in all, we are happy with the food the service is fast even though we go there lunchtime. The server is amiable and accommodating. $184, including the service charge, is worth it. I love the music they play. All OPM songs feels like home.

This location is way better than the Daly City Location. Better service and maxx been around since 1990s. The kare kare is really good.

Chicken was light and crispy. Not oily like the other popular Filipino chicken place that we all know. The halo halo had great presentation but didn't have enough of the fun yummies I expected. This is mommy's favorite childhood restaurant from the Philippines. The food was fine. I liked that it wasn't salty. I liked the lumpia presentation in an open wrapper. Garlic rice was nicely flavored, but could have used more garlic. I'll come back next time in town to try more chicken.Dietary restrictions: I love Filipino food but due to new allergies to sesame I can't guarantee I can eat here safely. Staff isn't well versed in allergy knowledge. Language was a barrier with the server.

love the food the service is ok not the best but can live w it the most that really bother me is the loud conversations inside the kitchen and counter in Tagalog w all those sometimes foul Tagalog words sounds very discriminatory in my opinion the cook would not stop talking out loud yelling to all staff and of course they yell back I knew Max restaurant to be classy and elegant way back in Manila before but this one in Milpitas is a deal breaker because of these loud noise.

I will not going back to this location anymore and I will not recommend to my fellow pinoy if they will eat here without dressing up like a rich person or will only order a few things, because they will put your order @ the very last, pinoy mentality is always looking at you the way you dress and what you order. Over all the servers are not friendly, they never ask if everything is ok. VERY BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE!

I love MAX’s Fried Chicken. It is comfort food for me. Growing up in Manila in the 60’s there was one Max’s Restaurant on Roxas Blvd in Paranaque/Baclaran and one in Cubao, the Baclaran one was very popular. My dad used to take us there on special occasions and we loved it. Back then an order of chicken came with fried plantains. Delicious meal. Living in the States I’ve been to Max’s in LA in the 90’s, my favorite Max’s in Las Vegas and the old Max’s in San Jose(?). This Max’s now still has the same tasting chicken I remember from my childhood years. Delish. Simple fare but I will travel long distances to eat at Max’s, I live over an hour away. I walk in, same ambience, same decor and same delicious food as I remember. Wait staff is wholly Filipinos from the homeland. And as it is with Filipinos everywhere, warm, friendly, caring and respectful. I only wish they’d stick up on their wine inventory. I had to drink beer. I love Max’s Fried Chicken and I hope they go on to my children’s generation.

Max chicken was awesome. Lots of flavor. Also had their pandit bihon and nilaga baka with steam rice. It's a little on the pricey side but the food was great.
