I love MAX’s Fried Chicken. It is comfort food for me. Growing up in Manila in the 60’s there was one Max’s Restaurant on Roxas Blvd in Paranaque/Baclaran and one in Cubao, the Baclaran one was very popular. My dad used to take us there on special occasions and we loved it. Back then an order of chicken came with fried plantains. Delicious meal. I haven't been to this place for a while. It sort of deteriorated. Place isn't that clean, and the floor was sticky. Our table also had food remnants of the previous customers. Fried chicken was just ok. Sisig is a pass. Kare kare pass as well. The service was the best thing at this place. You can get better food in Daly City. I guess if you are in the area, try it, but don't expect too much.

Chicken was light and crispy. Not oily like the other popular Filipino chicken place that we all know. The halo halo had great presentation but didn't have enough of the fun yummies I expected. This is mommy's favorite childhood restaurant from the Philippines. The food was fine. I liked that it wasn't salty. I liked the lumpia presentation in an open wrapper. Garlic rice was nicely flavored, but could have used more garlic. I'll come back next time in town to try more chicken.Dietary...read full review
